Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is "J" and I've been reading about the rawfood lifestyle for probably about 2 years now. I'm 39 years old (turning 40 this year -- UG) and I've dabbled here and there with eating high raw, but have never succeeded for any length of time.

Alot of things are going on in my life right now -- major issues all at one time -- and I'm ready to make a commitment to myself. Something has triggered in me and I'm energized to commit to this. :D

This is my first day raw and it's 10:30am -- so far so good! lol Not even a cup of coffee!! WOW! I usually drink decaf anyway, but I drink about 48 oz every morning! So I've got my big bottle of water here and I'm staying away from the kitchen here at work. I've got to do this and I'm totally psyched up this time. Again, something's clicked...not sure what...and how I can relate that to anyone, but it's happened and I'm taking advantage of this wave of newfound self-awareness.

Good luck to all of you newbies!

Welcome! Just a little side note: you might exp detox ie: crushing headache, fatigue-but don't give up. In a few days you will feel like a million bucks! (I gave up regular coffee and I was drinking 2 quart jars each morning! ) Now I have a green smoothie every morning and I enjoy it so much more!

Best of luck to you on this new journey.

Thanks Purl. So far, so good. First day--no problems so far. About 90% raw (had salad dressing, chick peas and olives on my salad). No coffee or tea -- just water. I will get through the detox symptoms by keeping busy and not focusing on them. If I can keep my mind occupied, I'll be ok. That's my biggest enemy sometimes! :p

Thanks for the words of encouragement -- I really appreciate it!
J
