Well, if it is not my favorite pupil. I am glad you like my wire baskets Aisah. I take pride in running my kitchen like a military institution :)

I am glad you like the Purple Martin. Actually, that is the not a Purple Martin. That is the author of the Manly Manual. He is not well liked at this moment, he is too much of man for most :D

HUH??! *this coming from someone who inspires many?! 'not well liked at this moment?! figuring how to make sense of this*

aisah, I don't make much sense of it either. Just a few disgruntled fans I guess, lol.

Your kind words have not gone unnoticed though Aisah. I am grateful.

You should organize your refrigerator and then take picture and show us what you have accomplished.

Hi SamuelWilson,

Would you like me to take a picture of my fridge right now? I promise you will pass out! Just let me know if you want to faint for no reason.... I will be more than happy to assist

LOL,
You both would faint at my fridge. Things are falling out when you open
the door  yup that scary...I hear my husband mumble under his
breath the other day when going into the fridge...I think he was scared
and praying :p I need to hire one of those organizer people (yes they exist)
to do my whole house. It would cost us thousands of dollars I think...

Samuel-like always you impress me with your organization
and I like the new pic of the manly man ;) It's about time he shows his face!

I want my fridge to look like this! Where did you buy the wire baskets?

Also, I have been thinking that I need my freezer to have 2 levels, so I need to find a shelf for it.

aisah, I actually meant for you to show the picture of your refrigerator after you organized it. No rush though, just a thought.

Punky, I am glad you are impressed with my organizational skills.

The Wizard of OZ has finally decided to come out from behind the curtain. I was hesitant because I knew the picture would cause the women here to fight over me :D

1. It's gonna take years for it to happen and if it should ever ever happen for me to re-organize my fridge.

2. I'd rather sit back and enjoy the cat-fight :D

LunaWitch..they sell "shelf risers for canned goods" at walmart . That would work perfect. they are made of wire.

I was just thinking that my refridge was a mess and I would love to have it all organized. I love the look of the baskets. I have some of the tupperware Fridge smart for my lettuces etc. but they are hard to get into (for my kids). I want them to have easy access to any fruit or veggie they want in the fridge-the baskets are great. I am lucky enough to have a spare fridge downstairs so I think I will have to keep the items I need for dinners downstairs and out of reach so they are not mistakenly eaten! :p I am measuring the width of the fridge and heading to Walmart!

Samuel has me so motivated to get going...
I just made an excel spreadsheet that has a table with what items I want to make next week. It has the days of the week at the top and the food items down the side. I listed the item I wanted to prepare on the day I wanted to prepare it and then backtracked from there to list any soaking, sprouting or dehydrating I need to do. Right now my hardest part is organizing myself to make the meals that need prep time. Also, I need more snack items. I seem to get in the most trouble when I am hungry, don't want another piece of fruit and really want a carb type item! I went through Alissa's book and picked out the snacks I want to make. I put them in the table and organized what needed extra prep time. I just need to make the shopping list and go to the store. I will start using this table on Monday Feb 20th. Maybe I'll even be motivated to post some pictures of the items I make :D

Reading these posts always gets me motivated!

When are you going to start "journaling" ..or is that against the "manly code?"

Unfortunately, journaling is very similar to writing in a diary and that is definitely not very manly. Therefore, I will not be journaling or tipsy toeing through the tulips or anything like that.

You women are just going to have to read my mind. I mean this is what we men expect out of you. The only thing else we need is a cold brewsky from fridge and some peace and quiet so we can watch the ball game.

Nini, actually I don't drink alcohol of any kind. I was speaking of men in general. I don't watch the ball game on TV either. I am more of productive person. I rather enjoy nature or do something beneficial.

SamuelWilson, are you retired from the military? Don't know exactly what makes me ask, just wondering.

Teri S

Doe (Teri S), no ma'am, I am not retired from the military, or anything for that matter. I am a business owner (private investor, stocks, etc.).

SamuelWilson
02-15-2006, 12:41 AM
Doe (Teri S), thanks for the kind words, I sure appreciate it.

I went and picked up some more of these wire baskets. I didn't necessarily need anymore, but I wanted to have a reserve of them. You never know, maybe later down the road I might want a few more for some reason.

I went to the Walmart and they did not carry them (at least not the store I went to-maybe another branch?). I also went on their website and none there! I was so disappointed... I had my refridge all measured and everything.

Does anyone know of any other place that sells baskets that aren't too expensive. Some of the sites on the internet have them but they are more for businesses and were VERY expensive! Maybe there are other alternatives that could be used as well?

Thanks-

danened, sorry you are having trouble finding these baskets. Here is the manufacturer information...

Royal Household Products, Inc.
Cerritos, CA 90703

The wire baskets themselves are made in China.

Thanks so much for the info. I will do an internet search. I can also use this info when I call the other two Walmarts that are in the area (just a little farther away).

You are sweet to take the time to answer in such detail!

Have a great day!

danened, I actually felt real bad about the trouble you were having finding those wire baskets, so I did a little more searching myself. Here is their full contact information...

ROYAL HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS, INC.
16716 EDWARDS RD. CERRITOS CA, 90703
(562) 407-5851

I contacted them and spoke with Byron in sales. They tried to tell me they couldn't sell to consumers directly, but I was very adamant about it and he says he can help you out (or any other raw foodist from this forum for that matter).

Therefore, if anyone in this forum wants the same exact wire baskets I have, you can call Royal Household Products directly and ask for Byron in sales.

I really like the idea of your wire baskets. I am organized everywhere but my frig and sometimes it's a chore to pull things out to make a salad, since I'm not sure where everything is. But that is all going to change....I'm on a mission for those baskets!

Thanks,

I am not sure what happened here-the baskets were just here the other day.
I came back today too-to re-look at them and they were just gone.

Maybe someone else will have an answer.
Also SW -who started this thread's picture has disappeared also?

If you look at the OP, you'll see it was edited by him on 2/17. He removed his pictures. You might see a lot of this sort of thing in posts and threads by SW so don't be alarmed or surprised...it was his decision regardless to what any of you may have heard.

People come and they go for whatever their personal reasons are.

Have any of you gotten these wire baskets into production? If you were able to obtain them, how are they working?

I was wondering if the produce would tend to dry out just in basket? I saw pics on another thread about raw kitchens and some people had square clear plastic lidded containers which I thought would be ideal. You can see what's in them and they would preserve some humidity.

I find going to the store more often great, because I hate a messy fridge. There are also things that you can eat now, that does not need referigating. Anyway this works for me. Where there is clutter, there is waste.....
