Is anyone familiar with Dr. Schultze's SUPERFOOD? Is it raw?

How about Arrowhead Mills Organic Sesame Tahini? Alissa posted a thread a while ago about a website that sold good staples and stuff like that... The arrowhead mills tahini (with the blue lid) is sold on that website, but I didn't know if it was truly raw or not. I called the company and they stated it was raw and not heated over 118 when hulling the seed, but you can never be too sure. Just wondering if anyone else knew.

Also, I can only keep my herbs (like dill weed) in my lil fridge before they go bad... am I storing them wrong my keeping them in the bag? What is the best way to store fresh herbs?

ANNNNNNDDD~ Tony Zavasta will be here in Nashville at Wild Oats on March 2nd if anyone is interested! I have never heard her talk before and I am so excited! Let me know if you plan on coming and maybe we can meet there!

I will share with you how I store my fresh herbs. First of all store herbs away from light. They only have to be in dark containers if you store them out on the counter, etc. where light can get to them. If you store them in cabinet, then clear containers are fine.

I vacuum seal my dried herbs in glass jars. I do keep a small amount in my spice jars which are not vacuum sealed. This way, when I need to gain access to a small amount of dried herbs, I don't have to open one of my vacuum sealed containers.

I'm quite familiar w/ Richard Schulze and his herbs yet, don't know if the Superfood is raw or not. Why not call and ask? The number is on the container, correct? If not, 800-herbdoc might work.

Samuel, Just curious..do you dehydrate some fresh herbs...like dill & then place in your jars?

Love the way you have them organized/labeled...

What if you store the herbs in the fridge??? What would be the best way to do that??

Are you sure arrowhead mills is not raw?? That would be very depressing, seeing that I have been using this brand for a month now, even though I called them and they said they didn't heat it in packaging....????

Lana

Lana, yes I do dehydrate fresh herbs myself. I dehydrate herbs in whole leaf format. I only break up the leaves right when I decide to use them or if I want to fill one of my small spice jars. I put them in the wide mouth jars so the leaves stay in whole leaf format. I then vacuum seal them.

I want to add that if you can't dehydrate your own herbs, Frontier is probably the most "raw vegan friendly" herb provider out there at this time.

Samuel...You changed your avatar...How nice to see your smiling face informing us all on the latest gadgets/recipes & organizational techniques.... :) :) :)

I have dehydrated a few herbs, but I buy some in small packages & have put them in the freezer ( a tip I learned from my aunt) & it works great.

Thanks for answering!!!

ok, the concensus after calling all of these places is that NEITHER IS RAW.
I was a little surprised about the Superfood though b/c they said it was heated just enough to destroy the bacteria, but not heated enough to kill the B vitamins... what do u think that means!!@@>????

glad I didn't buy the superfood...

Samuel...Is that you ???
Lana

Yes, I have received quite a few emails from women requesting to see the manly man. It was against the Manly Code for me to actually smile, since all men are tough and we never cry or smile. However, I decided to go against the code and be a gentleman :)

I just have to say...
Samuel I aspire to be as organized as you! Have you always been this way? I work so hard to be organized and informed and with 2 small children and a husband I feel like I am always a step behind. I love reading your posts and seeing the pictures of your well organized things... it keeps me inspired and motivated. It is also nice to see what you look like! I love having a picture of someone in my head it makes them seem more like a friend.

Anyway, I had to say thanks for keeping me motivated... you are amazing! :D
