I can't complain much since I've been 100% raw today but I noticed that I am so attracted to the sweet raw foods. I was wondering if this has any potential harm with blood sugar, missing out on key nutrients, etc.

Here's what I ate today...Breakfast I had a fruit salad which had 1/2 an apple, 1 banana, 1 kiwi, almond milk, and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds and raw wheat germ with a little honey; Lunch I had a small salad with sunflower seeds and an oil and vinegar dressing and my lunch "dessert" was some soaked almonds with a honey drizzled on top; I wasn't all that hungry for dinner so I had a purchased raw brownie (so good!) a banana, and a lot of raisins. Maybe that isn't too bad, but I have such a sweet tooth and I love raw sweets. Maybe there is no harm in having a day like this? What do you all think?

Oh, also I love gum. I know it's not raw! But I love chewing on gum and I hate giving that up. It's my only vice (if I can even call it that). Any ideas on a raw replacement that I can chew on instead of gum?

Thanks. Hope everyone's had a great holiday.

Hi, I don't know if a day like this is bad. I have had many like this where bitter tastes just didn't appeal to me. I wouldn't worry about it. About the gum, well i know that it causes your body to think it needs to digest something. But the dentists say it is good for your dental hygeine. I think if you are chewing one made with natural sweeteners and not chemical addititves or refined sugar you may be ok. Maybe just cut back a bit to have it really be a treat as opposed to a vice. I got some peelu gum from the health food store and chew that on occasion but not all the time it is expensive. Have a great night.
