Hi all,
I have decided to do a quiet V dinner tonight. All because yesterday, Sunday 12th, was the Chinese V-day. Today, is a special Monday the 13th, where the full moon arises tonight. Tomorrow, we pay tribute to St. Valentine.
With that I would like to share my 'love'. Soon I will be greeting the full moon and I will wish for it to light the night beautifully for my friends over on the other side of the globe, as it did for me. After all we are but under the same moon :)
This creation was inspired by all you beautiful people. Enjoy.

YOU GUYS ARE HILARIOUS!!! Aw my cheeks hurt!! :D haha!! this is waaaaaaay too funny!! Before I proceed, Doe.... despite me being 'online' yesterday and on this board but I was not 'participating' if you know what I mean.... it is just another part of my 'observation' practice coincide with the Full Moon greetings. Thank you all for the lovely and encouraging words. Sorry all to keep you waiting, I hope the wait is worth... so.... *making a grand entrance*.... oh if this read is too long, I have linked some of the recipes which you can find towards the end of this post.
The first picture, its the Love Pie, from Shazzie. It was just decorated with strawberries but underneath is a frozen cake mixture of blended almond milk, banana and mango. Was supposed to serve it with Brazilian Cream but i decided.... nah!! too much work for me! :p
The second is just a plain ice-cream :) but with loads of work put into the making of it and collaborations from some of you lovely people's recipes!! Basically it is Banana Ice Cream (the one with pecan but I decided to keep it 'clean' so its just whipped banana), there is also another ice-cream flavor with a mixture of banana as the base with added strawberries and papaya. The chocolate is from Mysticat's Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. There is a base to the ice-cream, its Jennarose's Not Peanut Butter Cookie, all recipes from the forum. Additionally, I made banana leather into twirls and heart-shape which is placed first on the dish. The ice-cream was made in progression, 1. covered a glass with saran wrap and filled the base (which becomes the top of the ice-cream) with the chocolate sauce - freeze. 2. Added banana ice-cream - freeze. 3. a small layer of chocolate sauce - freeze. 4. the strawberry/papaya/banana ice-cream - freeze 5. thin layer of chocolate sauce - freeze 6. Not Peanut Butter Cookie - freeze. After freezing for a good time, remove ice-cream from glass mould. I did not freeze mine long enough so ice-cream was still soft and saran wrap was clinging too strongly to the glass hence making the removal a task - result - COLLAPSED ICE-CREAM!! :D but it sure tasted good!
and the grand finale.... ooooh I love this one!! Simply divine!! I thank Punky for the roll recipe. It is made simply out of coconut water, coconut meat & cayenne pepper. Salt was part of the recipe but I omitted it and it tasted still good!! I found that with my 'donut-shaped' dehydrator, it makes it harder to obtain a nice round shape of the roll. I believe with an Excalibur, it would be easier to spread out, dry and flip then cut into rectangles/squares. Anyhow I managed, the recipe said to dry for 2-4 hours before flipping but I left mine for 5 hours and almost an hour when flipped. The roll is then filled with lovely fresh asparagus, enoki mushrooms, carrots, sprouts, lambs' lettuce, okra & green chilly. I left my vegetables fresh and have the vegetable marinade as one of the dippings (the lower part of dip dish). While the second marinade is SamuelWilson's Tamarind Dip Sauce. I love this wonderful dish. Actually my roommate came home when I was done clicking away and I got him to taste and he ate most of it!! (and he is not raw!!) Left me with the side greens and red chilies :o this is a sure make-again for me and highly recommended. Its not that a hassle but worth all the while....
hope I answered to all queries. Thank you all for enjoying the 'dishes'. I enjoyed making them too and somehow it really felt like I really shared these food which was made and served with love.

The black sesame-seed sauce, actually a Marinade for Vegetables for use in wraps, I do not remember who/where from??!! Please if the person who's shared this recipe do 'stand up'.... however I have decided to post the recipe, which was also from this forum :
Marinade
3 tbs. sesame oil
1 tbs. black sesame seeds
1 tbs. raw soy sauce or 2 pinches of salt
2 tbs. lemon juice
I thank you all involved, directly or indirectly, in the making of this lovingly-prepared contribution.

Thank you for the descriptions Aisah!
I was wondering if those were the wraps I posted the recipe for :)
I actually emailed Sarma and she gave me permission
to post the recipe. She is a sweetie.
I am quite impressed with your presentation Aisah.
Really everything looks so gourmet, delicious and lovely!
I will have to make some of these for sure.
How can you go wrong with a name like "Love PIE"..it does sound so "Shazzie"
-love her.

Hi Punky and Lana!!
Thank you for your lovely feedbacks. We serve each other, of course with love ;)
Punky, ya thought you would have guessed the wrap thing. As for 'THE' Tamarind sauce... hmmm *screaming out to SamuelWilson*... "WAKE UP!! WAKE UP SamuelWilson!!". Punky, its his recipe and out of respect, I step aside for The Man to read from his Manly Manual :p It might take a little more than 13 hours for him to hear my hollers though.... hope you can wait Punky... oh but I must add I love this sauce over the 'Marinade' however my flatmate prefers the 'Marinade'. Tamarind = sweet sour. Marinade = salty and a little to the oily side, but still nice.
Lana oh Lana!! You will not regret with the wrap!! Its delicious! It does hit at the right spot!! ARGH!! OUCH! It hurts so good! Must have the dipping sauce.

Calling Samuel...aisle 3....I also would like to know if you can make a tamarind dipping sauce w/out the tamarind...I'm making spring rolls as well... :) I know this sounds crazy, but I saw in the "discussion" about the sauce that he was trying some to sub lime/dates, etc....Samuel...we need your expert opinion... :)

Tamarind Dipping Sauce
1 cup soaked and strained tamarind pulp
3 tablespoons agave (substitute 3 pitted dates)
1 tablespoon nama shoyu (substitute braggs)
1 tablespoon EVOO
sea salt to taste
Special note, I make my own tamarind pulp from whole tamarind pods. I realize this is going to be more labor intensive than most of you want to endure, so I would suggest you just purchase the blocks of "seedless tamarind".
Blend all the ingredients in a blender. I will have to give you more information about this recipe later. I just wanted to post here real quick so you could have it.

I am more than happy to share for the beautiful people at this forum have given me a lot, so much that I feel it is only fair I 'give' something in return. Thank you for liking the thread. And oh, thought it would be nice to have those chocolate on top. Hmmm how about some hidden Chocolate Chip Cookies buried in the ice-cream? ;)
