Good Day To You All!

This morning I was about to do my wonderful Superman Breakfast Smoothie as I do everyday and thought, hmm, why not crack open Alissas book Living on Live Food and have look at her drinks again, your impression looking at these recipes changes each time as you progress on your journey.

Amazingly I had the ingredients to make several! So I decided to do something very different form my normal Green Smoothie. I chose her Mudslide & I had made Sarmas Vanilla Brazil Nut Mylk with Strawberries as I had made brazil nut mylk for the first time last night - prefer almond mylk though!

I thought they were so pretty I felt there must be others out there who are stuck in a smoothie rut so I thought we could all share our smoothie pictures!

I was so blown away "that not all smoothies are the same"! The mudslide was like a thick chocolate milkshake and the other was again just like a strawberry milkshake. Both of these will really fill a void for me and help me in my raw journey as I am an ice cream nut.

Added: Superman Breakfast Smoothie

As I make new ones I too will add here.

Thanks everyone!! :D :p :)

PS: My kids love them too!

This was breakfast this morning. My big thing about putting greens in smoothies is the color. They always turn mud brown on me.. YUCK! (That emerald green smoothie looks good though eachpeachpearplum) This one didnt though :) I was quite happy with the looks and the flavor. It was one frozen banana, about a half cup of frozen blueberries, one pear, and a handful of spinach. It was quite good!

For a bright green smoothie try using green/yellow pears with leafy greens (spinach/kale/etc.) Stay away from adding bright fruits like strawberries to your smoothie or it will be brown. I don't mind the color but it is fun to drink something bright green!!! Also, add a few peaches! Yum!

Here's a link to a few of Victoria's green smoothies:

Good point. My Superman Smoothie (above) used pears and only 4 frozen strawberries plus the spinach & kale. It never occured to me WHAT made it brown!

My newest and most successful green (sort of) smoothie:

cashew milk
bunch of parsley
frozen bananas
dollop of chocolate hazelnut nutbutter
dollop of coconut butter
scoop of cocoa powder
vanilla
pinch of salt
stevia plus agave/honey to taste

It's a bit of an odd color (probably because I also threw in a smidge bit of spirulina) but it tastes GREAT! Yummy chocolate for breakfast! The nice part is that the parsley helps to cut the extraordinary sweetness, so it's yummy and chocolately but I don't feel like I'm drinking a box of Valentine's day candy!

Ooops.... should have taken a picture of it before I drank it. Ah well!
Mmmm chocolate.
