Hi!
there is a little girl that goes to my church who has been very sick since she's been born. I've asked her aunt to write out the specifics, but she got bombarded w/her own kids and hasn't called me back.
What I DO know. She is in the hospital b/c she is extremely acidic. She doesn't digest her food very well, it goes straight through her w/out her absorbing too many nutrients. Her family is DEFINITELY on a cooked diet. She does eat more cooked veggies than the average child, although, that doesn't mean too much in this day and age.
What can you add to a child's diet that will help her to get and stay alkaline? The medical field is probably not going to provide the answers they need.
I know this is short w/out too many details, but, I would love your input.
BTW, she has been on a feeding tube most of her life, until about the last year.
Thanks!
Lauri

there is a book called the ph miracle and its not 100% raw just about 80% but it is all about balancing your ph and its what got me on this path. you might want to check it out I think it could help. They have more then one book out. Its a family I think and they even had a children's book out.

Apples are alkalizing and stomach/colon friendly---applesauce
Lemons are very alkalizing and removes extra acid--could make some lemonaide
Powder form of Magnesium CALM by dr Giliham
how long has she been sick? any formal diagnosis?

This would be just my opinion, do grab hold of Dr Norman Walker, any of his books are good. He believes in colon cleansing (i would rather the little girl stick this tube in to cleanse her poor little intestines than a feeding tube!) and carrot juice. But these would be my advise, most importantly, the mind must be ready and open to accept changes to allow good to happen. Dr Norman Walker books are inexpensive and makes a good priceless gift and a whole good of information in there about colon/the state of colon and how it affects the health. One will be amazed at how the colon, like the reflexology, affects greatly the health of one's body.

Thanks, All!
I will pass along the above information when we reconnect. Her aunt has been on the phone a lot w/her Mom, but, I have been in and out of the loop...
As far as a formal diagnosis, I will try and get it from Jo Jo when I hear from her. The little girl is Jocelyn.... She is precious!
What irks me is that, she's at Vanderbilt Children's hospital, where they should have knowledge of this kind of thing. And yet, you should see their children's menu. It's crazy!
Anyway, thanks all, for the input. I will pass it along and keep praying.

Greens. Simple and powerful. Also, you might find the following MPEG clip interesting:

I've heard that coral calcium help alkalize the system and I would also do green drinks maybe some chlorophyll.

Any update about this child? :)
maybe has something to do with gluten??? I've heard kids being that sick because they are celiac. Just my input.
Excessive Tea and Kombucha consumption have also been associated with hyper-acidity. Of course, excess animal protein consumption, excess grain consumption, excess legume/pulse consumption, excess sugar &/or soda consumption etc would all add to the acidic load of one's body, since they are generally classified as acid-producing foods.

I agree with greens -there is nothing more alikalizing than them. I also agree with cleaning out the colon. After they give her enema or colonics(every day for a while), they could use wheatgrass(or other grass) juice implants, the body ususally absorbs this way even more than by mouth. That's what I would do with my kids.

Oops, forgot to mention the books that talk about colon cleanses and implants - Ann Wigmore and Brenda Cobb are the authors. I will check out Ph miracle too. The other I heard about is Alkalize or Die.
Elaine Bruce's 'Living Foods for Radiant Health' is another that discusses wheatgrass enemas and the whole book is very clearly written.

I believe that I too am too acidic. I'll have to come back & read this & post to this later, as I'm on the run.
Sounds like some greens would do me good: I do not get enough of them as I should.

It really doesn't sound like acidity is her only problem. Do you have any more info? Was she breastfed or formula fed? It sounds like she has an extremely damaged gut that needs healing. many things can cause this-allergies, heavy metal toxicity, vaccinations, pathogenic bacteria, autoimmune diseases etc. You can help all of it, but only if you know the cause. Not absorbing nutrients is a sign that the intestinal lining is damaged and the villi and microvilli (what absorbs the food) are flattened and unable to work properly. This leads to a whole host of problems and would result in EXACTLY what you are describing. Hope the family gets some answers.

Well,
Jocelyn is out of the hospital..... Yeah! The problem she has is that there are these little things she need to be developed. I can't remember the name, but she was in the hospital TONS when she was born, fighting for her life.... so, it is more than being acidic. But, now she gets too acidic from her inability to digest properly. She goes to the bathroom a LOT. Because her digestive system is overactive....
Wish I had more info.... But, I am updating them with the information ya'll have given me, and letting them work some of it out....
But, the good news is, she's out! Oh, and the little things that she needs to develop, we've been praying about those, and they are developing. Yippee!!!
Blessings!
