:D
Has anyone been creative enough to come up with a recipe for an omelette?
Just looking for something I can fold and have for a quick breakfast that will kind of hold together after being in the dehydrator for about 15 minutes. This would be great for most of us who are looking for something quick for breakfast or lunch. :)
I've been thinking on how to go about it, so if anyone else what tho join in this, please post your ideas.
Thanks so much.

Hi, I haven't but I wanted to let you know I did find a recipe -not on this site-that said it tasted like scrambled eggs..it had cauliflower in...& I about gagged. I just wanted to warn you about that recipe...not sure where I saw it. ( I hope I did not offend anyone).... :(

I bet a good thing would be like a veggie breakfast burrito...use some marianted veggies & heat up in the dehydrator & then make some tortilla shells. there was a recipe posted a while back. I'll try & post for you...
Hope this helps :)

Sounds like a good idea. Don't know about 15 min though. Will look and see what I can find. The veggies would... I know!

This is not a 15 min thing, but would kinda replicate an omlet. You could find the cheddar cheese post that is here somewhere, blend that up and spread in circles on your teflex sheet. Maybe let that dry on the top. Then chop your veggies and when you turn the cheese, spread the veggies on half of the moist part, fold and leave it to get warm?

I have a green smoothie every morning, but I think I will try & make those tortilla shells for a change. I bet that "breakfast roll-up tortillas" would make a good "brunch" idea also...Just a thought...Even fill w/fruit... :) see how creative we can get, esp in the wee hours of the morning....LOL... :D

OK, others posted while I was typing, a common occurrence. Anyhow, marinated veggies sound good. The reason I like the cheese is that is what I relate omelets to, cheese and veggies held together by the egg (which I never liked). Loved the cheese and veggies. That's how the grown-ups in my young life got me to eat eggs.

This may not work for omelettes, but a raw acquantance in New York perfected a type of wrap like rice paper -- using blended up coconut meat & juice (young Thai) spread/poured onto a solid sheet (teflex or parchment) and dehydrated until firm. She used it for spring rolls, but also was experimenting with fruits when she mentioned it.

And ... it's not the wee hours here; it's just a bit past 10 pm!! So, I may not be as creative as y'all Easterners.

Raw Truth, I've seen a few recipes in a new book I just recieved using coconut meat & dehydrating. we are probably talking about the same recipe. It looks pretty good...I think it would work...Great idea...thanks for sharing that w/us. :)

Yes, I tend to get a little "nuts" on the net in the wee hours of the morning. My husband keeps saying...are you coming to bed yet ???

Do you know anymore about how to make the rice paper? I have a coconut.
If you have any more information about how to make it please share and thanks to all of you for being so CREATIVE. It's 12:34 in the am here.

Now this may seem weird but i chance upon the white-part omelette taste by accident.... i was hungry and had nothing much in the fridge apart from white cabbage and walnuts. So I rolled a white cabbage with the a walnut in it and i chewed slowly.... walked away from the fridge and I was stunned there in the kitchen.... it somehow reminded me of the white-omelette. Let me know what you think if you happen to try it.... it could just me be!!

Blessed, I'm not sure if you have Alissa's book or not, but her tortilla wrap (for the enchilada) in texture kinda reminds me of an omelette in a way because it's so soft (when it's not dried too long, that is).

What if you modified that...maybe left out the corn and added say avocado or zucchini instead and then put your usual "omelette" ingredients inside such as bell peppers, onions, Alissa's cheddar cheese, etc.?

If you tried it, made like only half or a quarter of the recipe with modifications and if you like it, you could just make up a bunch of those wraps and in the morning, fill with your favorite ingredients, pop in the dehydrator while you're getting dressed etc, and take it with you out the door...worth a shot!

I may even try it and see what it turns out like!

No I don't have her book yet, maybe I can get it in a couple of months. I know you can't print the recipe but thanks for the help.
