Hi,

I thought I would just post this for the benefit of those with compulsive eating behaviors in the past or present or for those just interested.

I have always had compulsive eating habits with cravings, too large of portions, constant day long preoccupation with food, bulemia (6 years when I was younger) fixation with diets, and overal obsession with food and how it would affect my body. I always had EXTREMELY low metabolism so this was a large part of it.

Since becoming 95-100% raw 6 weeks ago, I seem to have lost all of these symptoms of compulsive eating behavior. My portions are pretty small most of the time and I don't care. I don't purposely have to limit my portions, they just are small based upon what I want to eat. I don't spend the day waiting to get home to eat. I just get home and eat if I am hungry or don't if I am not. I no longer have cravings. I notice the benefits and I notice that I don't have certain physical problems, but since the problems are gone I pretty much don't have to think about it except to marvel at the change for the better.

Hope this motivates you that when you find what works for you, you too will be healed of this emotionally consuming behavior.

Karen, I've had the same thing wonderfully happen to me! After a lifetime of compulsive/binge eating disorder, even a short term treatment centre and an eating disorder psychologist who said I would NEVER recover without being on medication, I am free!

BTW - the eating disorder psychologist who I only saw twice was twice the size I was. Go figure. Maybe SHE needs meds to get better.

Karen,

You are soooooo welcome and I too saw an eating disorder "specialist" once who was 2x's my size and pushed meds within 20 minutes.....

Sometimes we all gotta go with our gut--after we clean them out too:)

Apparently, it is common for people to have cravings when they are either mineral deficient, have overly-acidic bodies or both.

Eating raw (if you do it properly) should address both of these, by encouraging much-increased consumption of alkaline-forming and (relatively) mineral-rich vegetables and wholefoods, rather than acid-forming, mineral-deficient, denatured foods.

I'm very happy for you all that, for whatever reason, your cravings are receding.

Thanks Karenisraw. I have fought with eating disorders my whole life. Up & down, bulimia, anorexia. Lately I have been bingeing my stress. I started to eat healthier (raw) yesterday. I am not 100%(maybe 80%) but I am working towards it. I was happy to hear that there may be some relief for me.
