blood drive today (my first one :) ) and wasn't dizzy at all until I was dumb and ran up the steps, haha. Anyway, I blacked out and now I'm still dizzy and really naeceous (sp?). This was about 3 hours ago and I was wondering what raw foods could help with the dizziness nad stuff? I'm not hungry at all and have no appetite. Would it be best to not eat anything?

I'd eat something. Maybe a nice banana, just a little something to get some glucose back in you. Dizzy is not a nice feeling, and you have been depleted of a pint of your blood, so your body needs a little TLC!!

Thanks. I had some fruit laster on and started feeling better. I thought it would go away by itself, but I guess not.

Fruit is the best thing to eat after donating blood. Also, it is very important to drink even more water than usual, as the fluid levels of the body are depleted after donating blood. They always tell me not to do any strenuous activities for 24 hrs. I have been donating blood for years now, and when I follow these practices, I feel just fine after!

PS Bless you for giving "the gift of life", for that's what donating blood truly is. There is such a need, and so few people give. It is SO important.

this is serious, how much did you donate? blacking out is a negative reaction to giving blood............do you have any health history?

COCONUT WATER has the same structure as human plasma--WW2 they used it as IV.

 I would seriously crack a coconut open and drink the water ASAP.

I'm pretty sure the blacking out was because I RAN up the steps to my class. I do have health history of B12 and folic acid anemia, and excessive iron. I've also had 6 transfusions in my life.

I can't have coconuts, I"m allergic, but thanks...I'm alright now.
