yes but only cooked. i dont really know how to describe it. it could be sweet when raw, but im not sure. i've only had it in soup my mom makes so the flavor is gone by then. its very stringy and ummm not very much like any other kind of food. i wanted to say potato but no its not really. sorry i couldnt help more

I do, I cut it up on salads. It makes a great garnish.

It is a moderate, pleasant taste that hints of sour, salt, bitter, and mild cheese. I hope this helps some. It kind of reminds me of water chestnuts.
