:o
Loved the trip but boy did we blow it. We went to Whole Foods and had mixed salads and for dessert one night I had vegan chocolate pudding with blackberries and raspberries on the side. The other night for dinner another salad but then we went to a mall and we were so hungry, we tried we really did try hard. We walked to the food court and looked and walked and looked and cam across a chinese place with veggie noodles w/cabbage and vegetable egg rolls we asked how they were made and the guy said with wheat flour so we ate that. On the way home hungry again and we had a veggie burger and baked chips.
Tell me has anyone else fell off the wagon while traveling with all good intentions it was difficult.
We are back and going through detox and we know why, so we are not feeling sorrow for ourselves.
Thanks for listening.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again.

I feel much better knowing that I can pick myself up and try again and not feel bad for sliding a bit. Life does go on and I remember someone said it not what you eat some of the time but what you eat most of the time that's killing us.
Yes, we had a wonderful time it was only a couple of days and my husband was in class both days but just being there with him was wonderful.
Thanks for your support.

At least you came home, saw the error of your ways and are fixing them!! THAT IS GREAT!! Vacations seem to be an excuse to go out blow money and pig out--at least in my family they do ---and then on the trip home, complain about weight gain, bloat and credit card debt.. I am heading to SIN CITY--Vegas next weekend and appreciate yout thread to re-remind me to take my food with me and enzymes and focus on the sites and not my belly and taste buds:)

my two words for you today are JUST RESUME!!

Blessings,
JMD

Thanks JWD,
Yes, I could have done better but there will be a next time. I guess if I had Alissia's book which I can't afford yet it would be very helpful. I hope you have a great trip and of yes, what are some of the things you are taking with you for snacks and meals. If you could find the time could you share some with us for the next trip?
Thanks

Ann,

I take empty ziploc containers --2 sizes--tiny and medium--in my suitcase--shove socks and underwear etc in them for now---then when i am traveling i can take my own lunch of salad nuts etc with me in a back pack. I ALWAYS stay in a hotel with a fridge for my flax oil and un-cooked veggies...and items like soaked nuts/butters

When I travel i keep it simple...soaked nuts in baggies , lots of juicy fruit like apples and pears and oranges that i can take and go....... When i go out to eat i end up taking a slightly bigger purse---so i can fit in some dressing and raw carrots etc....

Also if i am dining out i SPELL out what i need EXACTLY--if it is wrong i send it back--i am paying not them!!!

I heard it once if you fail to plan then you plan to fail.....be flexible but pack what you need for you!!

hope it helps

Blessed,

Just to let you know, about that "vegan chocolate pudding" at wholefoods. If you look closely at the label, below the main ingredient section are more ingredients listed. Milk and soy. Oops. They don't really know what vegan is do they. Just thought I would let you know.

I say no big deal about the cooked food situation. Dont beat yourself up. You know how it makes you feel, so at least you have the experience of knowing what it will do to your body for future reference.

I've got an Ezekiel bread hangover, so I'm with you. It was still in the fridge from before I did my fast. I was trying the transition thing again, but cold turkey is all that works for me. I had been 100% since 1-28. I threw it over the hill though. Feels pretty disgusting.

Just another confirmation that raw is the way to go.

I thought the vegan pudding was okay, it said made with tofu. I know it's not raw but I thought it would work, we were out of food and hungry, no excuse.
Thanks for the info. I've been going through detox since we got home both of us, this evening I'm beginning to feel better.
