So I was most of the way through my first day totally raw...whoo! Feeling very inspired and decided to stop by Wholefoods to get something yummy for dinner...picked up the raw vegan flaxseed crackers.yum. also, raw banana coconut cookie...good so far...then I saw hummus and taboulie and thought..fabulous! I am sure these are raw!
so hungry that I ate them as soon as I got home..then thought..I should make sure of raw status...
did the banana search and BAM! NOT RAW!!!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! :(

No big deal; just learn from your mistake.

Jennifuh,
Where are you that your Whole Foods has raw crackers and cookies. Mine doesn't. Maybe I should ask.
Definitely be patient with yourself on this so you'll enjoy it, not be miserable. "Progress not Perfection" as the Stuart Smalley character used to say on Saturday Night Live.
Best,

PDX Kris, this is the icon at the top of the screen where you can search old threads to see what's been said on a topic. It's a great first step before posting a new thread or taking an action. For example, today I "banana'd" Excalibur dehydrators. I learned:
* Online auction dehydrators aren't warrantied
* You can get an external timer at the hardware store, so you don't necessarily need the one with the timer from the manufacturer.
All that good info in just a few minutes to get the right product and save $ - the power of the banana!
I assume Jennifuh is referring to not learning about tabouleh and hummus before buying.

:p my wholefoods is in palm beach gardens, fla...have also seen the raw vegan stuff in the atlanta stores too. they are usually located in the refridgerated produce section where they keep the herbs...I noticed my raw vegan sunburger and banana/oatmeal/almond cookie came from a farm/sore in Miami. cool! Too bad it is so expensive! 3.99 for a cookie and 4 bucks for 1 sunburger! 5 bucks for flaxseed crackers!!!!!

Thanks Jennifuh! I'll look more carefully on my next visit. I bought some of the $5+ raw crackers elsewhere and quickly learned Alissa's easy recipe instead. Book pays for itself in no time when you make your own!
