Ode to Rawkinlocs

Rawkinlocs, our beloved super moderator comes back tomorrow after a well deserved break! She gives so much to this forum, so much time, effort, counsel, computer help, knowledge, humor, patience and love.

I want to honor her with my heartfelt gratitude for all that she gives--and all that she endures. Sometimes it is difficult being a moderator. When things need to be done in order to follow the forum's philosophy, or to keep it peaceful and organized, or to carry out the wishes of the administration, people don't always understand-- or react nicely! Often times they react to her, when it was another moderator who altered something. Regardless, Rawkinlocs continues to give everything she has in her.

She is a remarkable woman and I so wanted everyone to know that! Especially Rawkie! Thank you, thank you, thank you beautiful Soul for all that you give, do and endure.

May your love and patience be returned to you a thousandfold.

Yes, Rawkie is part of the backbone of this forum. She is here day and night silently keeping us safe from the things that we never see or hear because she already took care of it. She gives encouragement and whenever we need something there she is ready to help. We could never give back even a fraction of what she gives us.

We love you Rawkie. Hope you got some much needed rest.

Sorry, I don't know Rawkinlocs very well, i've only been raw for 10 days. She sounds like a very remarkable lady. I look forward to getting to know her better as well as everyone else. Now that I think of it... she's usually one of the first, if not THE first to reply to my posts when I was sick and confused about what was going on or what to do. Thanks, Rawkinlocs for all your advice! You're awesome!

It takes a very special personality, to make a really good moderator. It takes the guts to be the "bad guy" in other people's eyes, when someone needs reigning in before creating havoc. It takes the diplomacy to NOT say what you feel, when your personal feelings get in the way of your moderator duties. It takes the warm heart to go on to be supportive, and understanding and embracing and helpful, even when you yourself, is having a bad day and feeling down. I know that this forum owe's it's positive feel, to the very special moderators here. I would like to thank both Rawkinlocs and Sweetgoddess for making this forum such a positive place to be.

In my online life, I've been a moderator too, and I know how hard it can be. I have also been just a member in quite a few places now, and those with negative moderators, get some really unpleasant "invironments".

Kudo's you two. And now enough of this. I want fooooood. :P

This was so heart-warming to read. I tell ya...when I first read this thread (*COUGH* last night) I almost cried.

It really feels good to know you're appreciated and I appreciate all of you so very, very much. Yes, being a moderator can be a tough duty at times. There were times I even thought of just throwing in the towel and stepping down...but I could never bring myself to do it. I love what I do here and though there are those times when things get a little bumpy and I feel less than loved by some, the good FAR outweighs any negatives.

This place is like another home and I've grown fond of so many of you here.
