Just getting started. Any advice? Anyone know a good recipe book I can start with?

Do I need a lot of kitchen gadgets to get started?

As Revvell said, get Alissa's book and DVD! You can order online or call 978-985-7217 to order.

They are a complete walkthrough and the best resource there is for starting raw!

Alissa´s book is a must, but Renée Underkoffler´s book Living Cuisine is REALLY good, i use it a lot and Sarma Melngailis book Raw Food Real World is more complex but is so beautiful in terms of fotos and great ideas if you have a dehydrator and time on your hands :) . I really like Victoria Boutenko´s 12 steps to end your addiction to sad foods...really good reading and Gabriel Cousens Rainbow Green Live - Food Cuisine.
These are definately the best books in my raw library, and belive me i have a lot of raw books!!!
Check them on Amazon.
Hope this helps, good luck.
