I would really like to get a blender that can also act as a food processor. Before you get your "Vitamix" shouts out, I don't want to spend more than 130.00 if at all possible.

I was looking at the tribest and it seems like it would grind nuts as well. I also saw a Osterizer on line that looked pretty good....has a grinder blade, too.

Any thoughts and ideas would be great. My blender died and I need a food processor. Am I hoping too much to get both in one?

Nothing wrong with Wal-Mart. It is inexpensive and it gets the job done. It is your best bet until you are ready to purchase a Vita-Mix.

I don't know about the other but my old Osterizer has a metal geared motor and that would be a big thing to look for. It will help it last longer and handle the bigger jobs like nut butter and such. I had no complaints about my Osterizer, it did smoothies well, never did nut butters, but I'm not a big nut butter person, I'd rather just eat the nuts.
