Yes, I find dates too potent and it's rare that I eat them. Plus, you want to watch the sugars in the dried fruits (unless you were eating fresh dates??).

You asked about calories in your previous post. I haven't had so much problem in getting the calories - just up your fruit intake until you reach the goal you want. I did struggle with getting the protein balanced - I've found bananas to be the solution. I try to eat at least 8 - 10 a day.

When I started on the 8-1-1, I logged my daily food into the fitday.com site. It really helped me find the right balance.

I always go back and forth with 811. It makes total sense to me, but seems hard not to crave the fat, or eat too much fat (like avocadoes, etc). For the most part I can stay away from stuff like olive oil, but then sometimes end up having it in salad dressing when I'm not thinking about it.

For the 30 day challenge, I wanted to use the 4 week plan in Alissa's book, but the fat content in many of the recipes seem so high to me. I'd like to come up with some kind of recipe/eating plan for a few weeks that is low fat. I have Dr. D's High Energy recipe guide and he has quite a few nice coleslaw and salad dressing suggestions that I'd like to try.

I think it is really easy to do when I'm having at least a fruit shake or two a day, then I can get a lot of bananas in that way. I feel great when I'm able to do it, and I think most longer-term raw fooders naturally gravitate toward a lower fat, high fruit, simpler diet.
