I have started to break out in a rash and it itches.
It's on my legs now, so it seems to be spreading.
Could this be a form of detox?
I remember getting hive like rashes before.
Any way to help relieve it?

Maybe some Aloe on it? Or an oatmeal bath? Hmm.. do you have any lavender? That is good for irritated skin too.

it's possible that it's a candida rash. Sometimes as you go more raw it will flare up. Here is what works for me. Raw apple cider vinegar--apply with a cotton ball and then let it dry. An fungicide cream, like lotromin. And .....preparation H--no kidding...for the itching.

Yes, your body is ridding itself of toxins. That is what a rash, any rash, is. You can help your body clear the toxins faster by drinking more water. Shower as often as possible to keep them off your skin. If you have a juicer, carrot/spinach juice is a great drink for cleaning the insides. Dr Norman Walker recommended 10oz/6oz respectivley. Three times a day wouldn't hurt while your having such a problem.
Hope it clears soon.

Your skin is your largest organ of elimination, so yes, detox.
Cucumber juice is incredible for skin repair! :)

Well, I had a rash that would come and go. After having a cold and basically eliminating most things it went away. Then came back after I starting eat red bell peppers. Go figure. No they aren't organic. Could either be the junk that they put on them or red bell peppers themselves. Just a thought, besides detox, could just be a food allergy. I believe according to chinese theory that rashes are internally heat.
Solarliving,
They were probably helping your body to detox. We are not alergic to things that cause hives, they are simply helping the body to rid itself of stored toxins faster than is comfortable. After being raw for a long time people are amazed to learn they can now eat foods that they used to be 'alergic' to. It is simply that there are no more stored toxins to be removed.

Doe,
That is an interesting thought, although I believe there are certain foods some cannot tolerate such as dairy. I know some people are allergic to bananas of all things if they tend to have an allergy towards latex. Like you said could be creating some sort of healing crisis.
Thanks for your response.
Solarliving we were talking about peppers werent we? Hopefully I can explain what I meant.
Animal products are not biologically appropriate foods for humans. We only need our own mother's milk, and that only until weaned. I was referring to true foods. Anyone will sooner or later have bad reactions to things we are not supposed to be eating to start with.
I was referring to hives and so called allergies that seem to be caused by certain fruits such as strawberries, oranges, apples, or peppers. The truth is that these foods are not causing the problems; the problems are being caused by the things eaten previously, (usually dairy, grains, or meat,) which have been stored in and between every cell of the body as toxins for sometimes decades. The fruit in question is simply starting a cleaning process of these stored toxins.
Sorry I didn't express myself properly in the first place. It is a problem I have, lack of communication skills.

I have eczema and I have FINALLY figured out it gets worse when I am detoxing or constipated. The latter has been an issue lately and it has been flaring up. When I am 100% raw it's MUCH better, probably because my colon is so much better. But I also have asthma, which goes hand in hand with eczema. All raw didn't help that, but maybe I didn't stay raw long enough. I have a very hard time being all raw right now-I have 2 kids and a partner to cook for, all of whom do not want to be raw, much less vegan. I am about 50-80% raw now, depending on the day, and all vegan. That's helping too.
Being that the skin is the body's largest elimination organ, it's pretty sure that skin conditions are a toxin issue. Try a deeper detox of your colon. That works for me....

This is SO on point! My daughter and dh had skin reactions to eating certain fruits and nuts...but upon cleaning out the diet, they can now eat these things.
Vegggeeemom, what has been said here is great! You mentioned having gotten hive-like rashes in the past...this could be your body retracing to clear out what was left over, ESPECIALLY if you ever used topical creams and/or ointments or even oral medications in the past that suppressed it.
