Listening to all the fear-based bs.

IMO, perfectionism and comparison is what to avoid.....
For foods, I would listen to your body and let it guide you on your way....
Good luck---keep reading and seeking your truths.

Perfect answers Revvell and JMD! Yeah! :)
-Trying to be perfect!
-Being upset when your body doesn't have the same reactions other people report experiencing
-Not accepting your own personal experiences as valid

Follow your intuition, but not your brainwashing. Question anything that doesn't feel right, no matter what world famous physician/guru/whatever says. ;) What's right for someone else may not be right for you. I can assure you that chemicals and poisons aren't right for any of us, but coming off of them can be a b**** and should be treated as one would treat a detox from drug abuse. I've been in alcohol rehab, I've seen some nasty detox. But it's important to get it out using common sense of course.
Good Luck!

Alissa suggests in her book, that you try to get something from all 3 groups: The fruit, the vegetables and the nuts/seeds. She says it will vary from day to day, what you feel that you need to eat, and you should listen to that.
Take it one day at the time. There are a lot of vitamins that we are supposed to have, and many things we need. You can do a search and find out what they are (google it), or you can read up in Alissa's book. And then you can try and find out which fruit and vegges have what in them. But that's a very scientific and a little fear based way of eating, so I suggest that you follow your heart, or your gut, and eat what you really want to eat. And then, if you feel a need for better skin, or help with weight or whatever, then ask here, or search on that particular topic, and find out what to do about it.
Bit by bit, you'll find a way, to work on the things, that you feel aren't working on now.
My 2 cents as a relative newbie. Reading Alissa's book is a good start.
