I just got my dehydrator a few days ago and it has pretty much been on non stop. I was just wondering if anyone using their dehydrator on a regular basis has noticed a significant change in their electric bill.

I was surprised how little it cost to run the dehydrater. Pennies an hour or less. Amazing huh?

Wow really that's great news!! I had to up the heaters on my fish tanks a few years ago and boy did it do a number on my electric bill. I am glad to hear that is not the case with the dehydrator!

I have three dehydators, Excaliburs, and they go about 24/7, I've notice a big change in my electric bill,
IT WENT WAY DOWN, because I don't have to keep my heat on in my house at all, when my dehydrators are on.
although I never heated my house much anyway, I would If I had guests, now I don't even heat it for guests, and my home is toasty warm.
My dehydrators are in my kitchen, which is centrally located in my home, my home is quite large, and these three guys heat the whole place well.
since, I'm very conservation minded, I think this is a great idea.
My hubby threatens to take one out to his workshop, just so he can keep warm. LOL
After running my dehydrator all night, I actually woke up this morning wondering the same thing. Now that I'm not baking bread ALL DAY, every monday I bet my bill will go down-even if I run the dehydrator 24/7. My guess is that it uses as much electricity as a fan does in the summer...would I worry about plugging in 1 fan-probably not. :D

Thank you Purl.
This is good to know that was our biggest concern, since we have other items in our house that eats up electricity. I am discuss with the family to eliminate some electrical items.
