Hi, I've followed this site since the beginning, my wife and I have been high raw for over three years. I lost 52 pounds in three months, and my wife (Pansy) lost thirty five pounds. I've noticed that there is an awful lot of stinking thinking on here about losing weight. Just like you are training yourself to eat healthy, you have to train you mind to think healthy, see yourself healthy, sexy, and thin. What you think, controls your reality as much, or more, than what you put in your mouth. So, think healthy thoughts and watch the weight fall off. What you focus on you will achieve. So Be It.

I appreciate your post. Thank you for this reminder that what we concentrate on multiplies. Today I choose to think healthy thoughts.

I agree, healthy thoughts can lead to healthy behaviors, but as misslinda says, losing weight is complex. For me it involves a lot of emotional baggage, mixed messages from the media, self esteem, rejection, etc. etc. But I'm getting there!

Believe it or not guys all have emotional issues as well, maybe we just don't admit it as easily. Have done emotional work for years it just takes time to resolve those pesky  demons. By doing all the emotional work was why my wife and I dropped the weight as fast as we did. But you still have to keep the thought positive all the time. So Be It. Forever Young

I think your message is great, but I think the tone is a little "condescending.'" Some people here do have to "vent" things that are not positive, but we should still be supportive or not comment at all.

In my view, it's about getting honest w/real issues that people have to deal with that keep them from staying RAW. To label it as "stinking thinking" is not supportive, in my view. It may, keep people who desperatly need support, from writing in the forum
Just some observations. Glad to hear of you & your wife's success.

I know you clarified that men have emotional issues too but I suppose I was answering how you addressed it. Would lead me to believe that it is geared toward women. I totally agree that it is an issue for men as well. :)

yeah, i agree that weight is too much of a focus. if you are only doing this to lose weight, you may not do too great. on the other hand, i know i would definitely like to see my weight melting off. besides, one of the benefits of going raw is the supposed great weight loss. i want to enjoy all the benefits of this new lifestyle. i will admit, i'm partly doing this for weight loss. not totally, cause i can lose weight on SAD. i am trying not to completely focus on that. i had my family hide the scale. since i am new, i am only working on making my everyday choices into habits. i know the weight loss will come. so, yeah, THROW YOUR SCALE AWAY!!!! :)

Forever Young!!

I am inspired to hear of a married couple doing a raw lifestyle together--makes life sweeter. My hubby is a strict meat eater...does not impede in anything I chose but it would be nice if we had this transformation to share. I think it would boost our moods on other levels besides weight loss....I feel it lifts one to a higher vibration level and connection to the Spirit.

As for stinking thinking I agree with you that one must think positive but also after some venting....and loving support. No man is an island!! For me, I am pretty blue lately and you know it came AFTER i was 100% raw versus 90%. The change I think--is detox on every deep levels even in my dreams!!! So right now I find it hard to think positive and I sense my body is holding on to some weight because of internal stress--i even gained 3 lbs recently with no major food changes fromt he past 3 months.

Bottomline, I think our thinking processes are HUGELY important in our day to day happiness...but i also think if they were tainted in the past it TAKES A WHILE to undo the negative tapes to more positive ones. I tend to try to ACT AS IF-until the miracle happens:) Just my two cents:)

PS what kind of emotional work did the two of you do--if you do not mind sharing--to come to the peaceful spots you are at today??? I could use some inspiration:)

Dear JMD,

First of all...Blessings, and alot of Hugs to you! You are the best and never forget it! We have done alot of work...emotional kinesology, hypnosis, reiki, things like this. We are not perfect, but things do work better with eating raw on all levels.

Thanks for asking and you keep your chin up,

Pansy (Forever Young's wife) :p

P.S. Where are you from JMD?
