I'm not sure if this counts, but...I dove in 100% cold turkey. I fell off the wagon, so to speak, a few times (sometimes a day, sometimes months at a time). So I don't know how to respond, honestly. I'm going on 2 years already with about a year strait 100% an dthe other year off and on.

Just hours! I found Shazzie's journal, started reading it and the next time I ate, it was raw. I was 100% from the get-go! I have also slipped, but consider myself a raw foodist from that day in 2004 that I read Shazzie's journal. It's a journey and I have attempted to be 100% from the beginning. :)

Immediately after I discovered a raw vegan restaraunt here in Minneapolis, I decided Raw was the most brilliant idea ever invented so I went cold turkey. I have slipped but the first 3 weeks or so was 100%. I am deciding that raw is for me for good. :p :p
Cold turkey! And I haven't slipped up once. Knock on durian!! (Oh, that would hurt.)

I think I hate you all :D Kidding, but its just I have been trying to go raw forever. Ok really about a year now. I will be 80 percent or so then go 100 percent for almost a month, slip go all back to SAD foods then get back onto 80 percent and so far its just not working, lol. I hope to be 100 percent forever one of these days tho!!

it has been a 10 month struggle for me and am not 100% raw - high raw but only ever seem to last about 10 days raw at a time. One day it wil happen ..........I won't give up but I am also over beating myself up (most of the time).

I also went cold turkey. Pam suggested that I join in this raw thing with her and I said yes. The next morning and since then I've been 100%-- one week today!

for me it was about four months. the very first time i heard about raw i thought, "wow, what a bunch of complete crackpots!" then i heard about it again almost a year later when i was in recovery after years with an eating disorder. i read everything i could on the subject of raw (including a LOT of comflicting information) because while i felt raw was going to be the thing for me, i was very nervous about restricting my eating that severely, fearing it would send me spiraling back into anorexia.
i've been basically 100% raw ever since then, without having fallen back into any of my eating disorder tendancies. i am at a point now where if i do want to have some cooked food, i will. i know a lot of people have a problem with one cooked meal turning into full-on SAD bingefest, but fortunately i am able to have a small amount very occasionally and in a very moderate quantity.

I haven't been able to do a whole month 100% yet. My max is about a week and then I get curious about eating something else and pay for it, then quickly get back.
So I guess my answer is that I haven't been 100% 100% of the time yet, but in my heart, that's where I want to be. (I've been on my raw journey since November 1st, also known as the morning after Halloween ;))

I have been to that restaurant a few times (Ecopolitan).....its fantastic!!
As far as raw.......I don't know because I eat bulgar wheat which is not raw........asides from that, I would say I was 100% after I did the 30 day cleanse which was 5 months after I started raw.

I actually thought about a raw diet (had no idea that people actually ate this way) back in I would guess 1992 when I was 13. I was big time into health and actually came up with an idea that God created food as it should be eaten and that we should eat it in its completely natural state and not even mix things.
This lasted for me about a week. I remember losing weight, but as an already slender kid, decided I should probably not lose any more weight and went back to SAD.
It was not until 2005 that I actually heard of a raw diet, the way I am eating now!! I began eating semi-raw in Sept of 2005, fell off the wagon in about November when we moved from TX to GA, and re-embraced and went 100% on the raw lifestyle as my New Year's Promise!
I started the 30-day raw challenge 30 days ago!!!!
I don't plan to EVER go off...I might have some slip ups someday, but I am certain this is a lifestyle change for me!
It's too easy at this point! :)

Thats interesting because my mom had brought a raw raw food book in 2002 called the raw gorme. I looked at those spell bounding beautiful pics and I said to myself I can do these recipes. I did it and I choose the raw apple pie which I completly loved, it awakened somehting in me that said I can do this raw thing and like it. Thanks for helping me remember that moment Purl. greay moment !

Hmmmmm ... I've been toying with the idea of becoming a fruitarian on and off since 2002, but from when I found Alissa's site to when I went 100% RAW was 3 days
