I'm wondering how everyone stores their fruits and veggies that they don't put in the frig.
I'm having a hard time fitting mine in the little basket that I have and just bought a TON of fruits and veggies today and have nowhere to really store them but on the counter.
I want to make it look appealing to the eye when someone comes in the kitchen and see the variety of colors of fruits and veggies.
If anyone loves their set up on how they store fruits and veggies, would you please include a picture and if it's not obvious what it describe it is for me! :)

Thanks!

Pam

I just so happen to have a pic that I shared with someone recently of a nice stand with baskets that my husband bought for me. I "think" it came from Costco, but I'll double check on that. I also have like 4 or 5 of those wire basket bowls that I put on the counter. Some stuff just goes in the fridge.

Oh wow! That is just gorgeous! I so want to make a trip to Costco or some discount store to find one of those! That is so nice looking!
Where do you actually keep it? Oh, you have me jealous..in a good way! ;)
I went back and looked after I posted...are the baskets removeable too??

Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks Pam...my husband did get it from Costco for $29

The baskets are removable and I'm proud to say that I assembled it all by myself! :D

I actually keep it in the dinette area right next to the breakfast bar-thingy. My kitchen is really small and it would be in the way in there.

Wow! I think that's a great deal. It looks like you can fit alot of fruit and stuff in there!
Our Costco card just expired. I'm going to have to ask around to see if anyone has a card that will go with me to see if they have that still.
How long ago did you get it?
Oh, sorry for SO many questions! :)

I also use the green produce bags for the fridge that work a treat at extending vegg life and they are reusable. I will attach a pic when I geta chance. I also tend to keep extra fruit in my (no car) garage as its really really cold out there, including my bulk spinach as it takes up so much room!

I line the bottom of my fruit bin with paper towel and wash them if a piece of fruit has gone off. I would prefer to store in wood but I had these on hand and they fit my panrty besides we go through fruit fast!

:) :) :)

Sweepea32..the fruits I keep out of the fridge are, bananas, pineapple, tomatos, avacado, mangos (that is what I have access to right now) I try & use how they store things at the supermarket for my guide.

The rest I store in the fridge, including all my nuts in glass square jars.

I found wire bins (use them side-by-side) that I use in the fridge to stack all cukes/zuchinni, yellow squash in one & round citrus fruits in the other.

I am not sure why, but I had a problem w/limes getting hard & lemons & oranges molding on me when I stored them in bowls on my counter. :(

Hope these ideas help...
Lana

My wire baskets can also be used to store things outside of the refrigerator. Here is a link I started about the wire baskets...
