I have searched the site for detox instructions. I haven't found anything specific? Is it simply eating raw 100%? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I just wonder if I need to do something specifically? I haven't gotten Alyssa's book yet...I am sure she explains it well in there....but I can't afford it right now! Help until I get it would be so appreciated. Thank you! :o

Yes, If you go 100% raw, you will detox naturally. If you want to hasten it, you could do a Master Cleanse or a juice or water fast. Just search for them here if you're interested.

The best advice I can give you is to just go 100% raw, and you will naturally detox at a safe rate.

I have done various cleanses, and they've worked, but the symptoms were almost more severe than I could stand in some cases. I do a gall-bladder cleanse that isn't too bad. I immediately felt better, lighter, and healthier, and this might be one you could try first, if you really want to do one.

There are a lot of various instructions you can find online, but the one I use has you eating only fruits & veggies for a week (you're doing that already)... then drinking 1 cup of fresh applejuice 3 times a day for 2 days. This will strengthen the liver and kidneys.
Here's how I do it.

Then, the day you're going to do the cleanse, you need to STAY HOME near a toilet.

The night before you start, eat NO OILS, NO NUTS, NO AVOCADOES.
The day you start, eat only fruit for breakfast. NO OILS, NO NUTs, NO AVOCADOS.....Then eat nothing after noon.
At 6 pm, mix 1/2 tsp epsom salts in 1 cup of water and down it. (To me, this was the worst part of this cleanse. The stuff is NASTY!)
At 8 pm, mix another 1/2 tsp epsom salts in a cup of water and down it.
At 10 pm, mix 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil with the juice of 2 fresh grapefruit. Shake it up and down it. This actually tastes great.

LIE DOWN IMMEDIATELY... FLAT... no pillows.
Stay there for 30 minutes without getting up or moving.
Just relax and feel the stuff working. There will be gurgling, etc.

Then go to sleep. After the first 30 minutes, you can read or something, but stay in bed, stay down. No walking around.

Next morning, as soon as your feet hit the floor, drink another epsom salt cocktail then wait for the call of nature. You'll hit the toilet running.

After you go, look into the toilet, and you'll see many, many gallstones floating in the water! My husband passed over 150. I passed close to 100.

For the next several bowel movements, you see gallstones. Some are small, some are larger.

I do this flush once a year. But now that I'm on raw foods, I rarely see stones.

The way this flush works: Simplistically, your gall bladder creates "gall" which emulsifies oil so you can digest it. When you starve your body from oil for the 24 hours preceding the flush, then all of a sudden feed it the olive oil cocktail, the gallbladder responds by pushing a bunch of gall through the tubes, which flushes out many of the stones. At least this is how I understand it.

Some people have said that the green balls are just olive oil. But they're not. I actually fished a couple of the larger ones out of the toilet and cut them in half. Inside were hard white cores of some sort of mineral. :::laughing::: (my biology background would let me NOT do that!)

Bruce Fife is a doctor at OHSU in Portland. He wrote an excellent book on various types of detoxification. The book isn't in print now, but you can find it sometimes. SOrry, I can't recall the name, but you can do an author search.

For me, water fasts are too difficult, and best left for people with really serious diseases. Just eat your raw veggies and fruits. You'll detoxyify at an easier rate and you'll feel the difference within days of going 100% raw.

The body is constantly detoxifying. It's our lack of healthy eating that slows down the process.

Raw eating gives your body the nutrients it needs to funciton properly which includes digesting,eliminating,processing,assimilating..... ....all part of detoxifying.

However, fasting or doing a cleanse is a concentrated way of speeding up detox. Not neccessary--it's all preference.

Try eating raw and see how you feel..........cleanses and fasting can be more than you imagine! :)

Nope. There's something funny about humans and their toilet habits. We just LOVE looking to see what we left! roflmao!

My 2 year old granddaughter cries if we flush her creations down... quite traumatic
