Hi All--

I've been working to about 80% raw for the past 7 days. Unfortunately, I'm so depleted by 2-3 pm that I look for a SAD meal. Any suggestions? I've tried nuts, fruit shakes, guacamole and other things, but nothing has helped.

I must also add that I do attend Bikram yoga at 12 3x a week.

Thanks for any advice!

I think that it might benefit you to juice fruits and vegetables along with your regular raw diet it helps to give you quick energy that really lasts.

Would a couple of bananas satisfy you at that point or a large slice of date nut tort. When I started I found that the only thing to get me over the need that you express was avocado. It gave me the same satisfied feeling that I got from cooked.

I'm thinking large green smoothies with coconut oil, spirulina, and banana....

How often are you eating throughout the day? Are you loading before workout? Are you replenishing immediately after workout? Are you staying hydrated?

maybe grind up a third cup sesame seeds and add to a banana smoothie alomg with a third cup wheat germ , i like bobs red mill wheat germ brand if you dont have a favorite . and maybe make a sun tea out of yerba mate tea because its natural caffeine really gives me an energy boost .

Hi All--

I have to admit that I'm not eating a ton before yoga. It makes yoga impossible (especially since I'm in 106 deg. heat). Yet, afterwards, I make a green smoothie. Does coconut oil really help?

For my own reference, how many times a day do you eat as I'm still working with 3x per day and 2 snacks.

Thanks for the advice--

maybe a obvious question, are you getting enough water? when I was doing bikram I had to really focus on the water consumption. (although I ended up over-hydrating!)

I have a very similar thread out there right now myself. I did find that eating when I was hungry is a must. Also banana's and soaked almonds really helped me out. I'm looking at making a strawberry coconut smoothie as soon as I clean my kitchen. Eating a banana to get the 'get up and go' to do it first though.

I'd "load" just before yoga with a banana, which may help. Also hydration is a must especially in that heat. I would also eat 5-6 times per day, every 2-3 hours. This should help. Good Luck!

Thanks for all of the advice everyone! Transitioning to this type of lifestyle is quite overwhelming and I'm so happy to have the experience on the boards!

I'm definitely going to change my eating pattern and a banana before yoga should be fine. Water--I drink 128 oz a day. Too much?

All the best!
