Thought you would like this:

My five year old came home from a school party where the parent had provided a goody bag FULL of candy and GUM.

So as usual my daughter just gave the bag to me when we got home and we went through it together looking for non-candy items.

However, as we were going through and I named items off like "candy, toy, candy, pencil, gum, candy. . ." My daughter said. . . "What's gum mum, can I have it"? I said she could have it but that it had suger ect just like the candy. She decided to try it to see what is was like - it was a very small Chickletes size piece.

Let me interject here that my daughter never has candy and is allowed two pices at Halloween only - which she refused last year!

So to make a long thread short. The NEXT DAY I found her with what was left of the uneaten gum, clutched in her hand. She had been taking very tiny bites - since yesterday - and swallowing it! I had to explaine that it was made from flavored car tires and that she was to CHEW not SWALLLOW it! She was mortified and said she didnt like it anyway and threw it away asking why would anyone want to chew & chew something, then spit it out!

Thus, I smiled and knew I was doing a good job because my daughter had not known what gum was!!

Actually I dont really know, but I do believe it is made from a type of rubber! I think I heard it on the foodnetwork.

But best of all it's good for kid shock value!!! :D

obviously it is made from something that is not fit for human consumsion because otherwise they would not tell you not to swallow it. There was a debate in government here lately considering asking them to make one that could be swallowed but after the companies had made their point, it was decided that they make a contribution from their profits instead to help remove it from the sidewalks.
I live across the road from a nightclup and the sidewalk is covered by the stuf. It seems to be far more indestructable than car tyres.

I do not understand why you feel that you need to artifically freshen your breath. Is it just a habit that you have formed.
