1 cup soaked almonds
6 to 8 dates, soaked
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 cup soaked raisins
2 tsp garam masala
process the pecans & walnuts until in tiny chunks, but not too smooth. Put them in a bowl or cup.
Process the almonds, dates, raisins, and spice. When it's smooth, put in the other nuts and pulse it until they're mixed in.
Roll into balls, flatten, then dehydrate at 110 until they are chewy.
OH MY GOSH, they are good!
Garam Masala:
1/3 nutmeg, ground
1.5 tsp cardamom seeds ground
1.5 tsp black peppercorns ground
1/5 tsp black cuminseed ground
1.5 tsp coriander seeds ground
a 2 inch cinnamon stick ground
.5 tsp whole cloves, ground
a curl of mace if you have it
Grind it all up and keep it in a separate jar. ;)

Oh, I'm sooo glad you posted this ... just adore Chai cookies; used to order some from eatraw until had horrible experience with them mail order. Stopped using them on principle since gave them over a month to handle problem, and their customer service was atrocious, without apology. The Chai cookies sure were good though, and very happy to see this recipe. Know that I'll be making them for sure! :)

These are good. You can tweak the recipe to make it less sweet, or more sweet, or chunkier (don't process as long). I thought I might add some diced apples to the next batch. I know the cookies you're talking about... we should be able to make them, huh? Let me know how you do and if you have suggestions!

I've never had Chai anything, but I remembered someone gave a recipe for Chai something or other and upon doing a search, found that it was SamuelWilson who once posted a Chai Mylk recipe...maybe that would go well with RowanC's Chai Cookies (?):
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7982&highlight=chai
First, you make some almond mylk. I will give you instructions on preparing a single 12 oz serving of Vanilla Chai Almond Mylk.
Chai Spice
3/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t ginger powder
1/4 t clove
1/4 t nutmeg
Add the Chai Spice and a dash of vanilla extract (or vanilla bean method)
to 12 oz of Almond Mylk and blend. Then run through cheese cloth (or paint strainer bag, or fine strainer of any kind if that is all you have) to remove any spice ingredient that will not dissolve in mylk. You now have Vanilla Chai Mylk.
It is important to strain after blending to remove any undissolved spice. Do not try to omit this step. Also, Chai Spice and Pumpkin Pie Spice are basically the same thing. Therefore, if you have Pumpkin Pie Spice, you can use that in place of the Chai Spice recipe I gave you.
I do not have the measurements for 1/2 gallon of Almond Mylk, but you can just increase the Chai Spice and Vanilla to suit your taste.

Hi RowanC,
I have been meaning to ask but 'kept' it to myself for I do not want to be deemed silly. I was hoping someone else would 'ask for me'. However it seems no one is as silly as me in this planet!
I cannot hold on any longer, so here goes, at the risk of being silly, with regards to your recipe, i know the first one is a cookie recipe. While the second one??
Grind it all up and keep it in a separate jar. ;)
For how long do I keep it in a seperate jar?? :D I meant what do I do with it?? :p

Aisah-
You silly goose!! lol j/k No question is a silly question, now the person on the other hand....lol j/k again.
I'm not rowan BUT, the malasa is the spice combo in the cookies, you just follow the recipe to make the spice and keep it in a separate jar. It should keep for a while since the ingredients are dry. and from that jar, take out two teaspoons to add to the cookie recipe.
Did i answer your question?
