Have any of you guys used the VacSy vacuum storage system?

Any thoughts or opinions? Or alternatives? Thanks!

I would have bought it, if I didn't already have the FoodSaver system.

However, I would like to add that vacuum sealing fresh living fruits and veggies is not the best method. It traps the contents in with ethylene gas and will actually cause them to spoil.

The best method as of date is the FreshSaver Canisters in my opinion. For large produce, the "Green Saver" bags work best.

For vacuum sealing dried herbs and nuts, the VacSy looks like it would do the job. But I was looking at the prices and was not very impressed. The set I would buy if I bought the VacSy set would be the 9 Piece and it sells for $329.

I did notice that the VacSy system utilizes glass containers instead of plastic containers like the FoodSaver system. I have not noticed any plastic taste that has leeched into my raw food meals that I have kept in the FoodSaver Canisters. It is supposed to be a grade of plastic that does not impart its flavor into the food.

Thanks for your reply. The fact that the VacSy system uses glass is what got me interested. Also, I'm only interested in using jars, not bags. It is pretty pricey though.
