sorry if i have put this in the wrong place. i have read quite a bit about RAW diets and alot of people say about having enemas. Now my question is, is this necessary if you are on a raw diet? i apologize for my stupid question. please dont be angry at me.

I've only done enemas when I was fasting b/c during a fast the digestive system shuts down and there is no bulk for the colon to expel all the waste. Being on raw foods, bowel movements are improved so I don't see why it would be neccessary but then again everyone has varying opinions.

No question is stupid--thank you for asking :)

yeah, I think people really us 'em when fasting. I will try to put the bit of info as delicately as I can... :o Before RAW I um, "went" about 1-2x a week. Now I go 2-4x a day. There really is no NEED for enema's or colonics when you eat raw.

Some people do enemas at first because sometimes there is heavy detox. Natalia Rose recommends in in The Raw Food Detox Diet. I'll look at the book tonight and see what it was she said.

Welcome lil fairy,

no need to apologize, to me the only "stupid question" is the one you don't have the courage to ask.

Absolutely no need for you to do any particular aspect of this just because some others are talking about doing it.

IMO don't care what Natalia Rose says, it's what's right for you that counts.

This lifestyle is sort of its own cleanse anyway. :)

Please be sensitive people, lil fairy stated before there were issues with that for her.

There are lots of raw foodists who vary in different aspects of how they do things, my recommendation is find what works for you. There's lots of "dodgy" info anyway, a writer puts something out there with less than stellar research, then it gets perpetuated as common wisdom, and suddenly everyone just assumes it makes medical/scientific sense (I'm not necessarily referring to this exact subject). A lot is not known still anyway, improving your health is not an exact science where there's ONE way to do it. You can find your own way within all the stuff you read and encounter, based on what works for you. If you don't like bananas, you don't have to eat bananas.

Welcome, and wishing you peace and happiness.
