Does anyone out there know of any good green smoothies? I'm new to this raw food diet and would like to know of any suggestions ya'll might have.
Thanks,
Laura

My favorite smoothie is frozen banana, kale, barley grass, 1 1/2 cups distilled water and about 2-3 pitted medjool dates. Be aware that the dates make the smoothie really sweet..... Best of luck!!

There are SOOOOO many threads on this forum about green smoothies - one in the last day or so, actually. If you search here, you'll find more than you can possibly try in a year!!!

Also, in Victoria Boutenko's book Green for Life, you'll get not only the original green smoothie recipes, but also the rationale behind drinking green smoothies. This is VERY valuable information.

Laura,

I have that book that Raw Truth is talking about. If you want to look it over you can borrow it! :)

If you're still not feeling well when you wake up, make another green smoothie and take it along with you all day tomorrow.

If you don't work tomorrow, you can swing by and you can have lunch here...I have plenty of food that needs to be eaten up and I'd love to share it with you! :)

I need to search for the smoothie recipes too, so if you find it before I do post the link!

Maybe we can make a green smoothie tomorrow if you don't work! I need to use up the grapes that I've got here!

Do you use frozen bananas in your green smoothies or fresh bananas?

I couldn't imagine a smoothie without frozen bananas but I get the feeling that you are mostly using ones that are fresh.

I use fresh and put in 2 or 3 ice cubes. Yesterday I used frozen pineapple and no ice and it was even better. Creamy! I have used frozen bananas in raw ice cream though, and it was great.
