when writing a post or reply, i noticed the features offered like font, colr and size, display the tech language rather than prompting the change.

i.e. I am going to the store. <~~~~ I select COLOR option and then a gray rectangular bar comes across the screen and asks what needs to be formtted (dont' know verbatim). when I press okay, this is what appears....

i.e. I am going to the store <color=geen>undefined <~~~ doesn't make sense! I've seen this on some of the journals. what are we doing wrong?

:confused:
more than confused today,
linda

Hmm,

I don't understand really, but what I do know is that if I'm typing, I do it in the white box like I'm doing now, and let's say I want to put one word in color, I can do it two different ways, I can either click on the box above which states and then a box apears and you write a the word inthere you want in color, like so:

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Hi Linda!

I can also do the colors myself, without clicking on the box above, for that I just type the brackets and the word COLOR and then a = and then the name of the color, like so (I will put a space between every letter so you know what I'm talking about):

[ COLOR = DarkGreen ] Hi Linda! [ / COLOR ]

just omit the spaces between the words an brackets, and you'll get the 'hi linda' in color...
same goes for size or font...

is this any clearer??

so how do I make "jay" only typed once with all three features. seems like everytime I want to use the feature, I have to type in that box?

Jay

Yeah,

if you want all three features, you have to do like this (type it yourself)

[ FONT = Comic Sans MS] [ COLOR = DarkGreen ] LINDA [ / COLOR ] [ / Size ] [ / FONT ]

or, without the spaces it would look like this:

[Size=7]LINDA

ps: leave the spaces between Comic Sans MS

Wow where did you learn dutch!!?!?

I do agree, but I only want to help you out here...

whenever you want to put a word for instance in bold, but a B between these kind of brackets [ ] and then type your word. If you are finished with the bold, open the brackets, type a / as in to 'end bold) and then the B and then another closing bracket like so ]

soooo: you'll get something like this [ B ] LINDA IS AMAZING [ / B ]

orrr: LINDA IS AMAZING

if you want to add color, or size, click the buttons above to see how you should write the 'code' and then do so...

you'll get there :)

ps: you can't make the smilies bigger... I've tried ;)

Ik bedroog-- computer vertaler.

Dankuwel voor al uw hulp Jay. You speak english so well I feel it would be an extended way of meeting your world half way and learn your language too. By the way, is the grammar correct on the Dutch?

Hehe, I thought you might have used one of those, lol
don't worry though, the grammar is almost correct, only you probably typed in I cheated, right? yeah, in flemish 'bedriegen' or like you said ik bedroog, is not the appropriate word to chose, I't's rather harsh (like you cheated on your husband), you know, you could have said, I fooled you, which might be 'foppen' in flemish, so it would be:
Ik heb u gefopt! (btw, ik bedroog should be rather like 'ik heb je bedrogen' I have cheated on you)

You're so kind to write something in dutch :)

this is considered the longest word in Belgium (it's not in the dictionary, but we use this in games like hangman, lol!!!)

that's right flemish is the dialect you speak!

The word pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, also spelled pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis, is defined as "a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica or quartz dust." At 45 letters, it is certainly the longest word ever to appear in a non-technical dictionary of

I thought you and everyone else might find this interesting. i may post it in another thread.
