He watched part of Storm and Jinjee's Breakthrough dvd last night. He was really diggin' it. When he got home from work he wanted to "talk raw" for 2 hours!!! (This is major-cause the darlin' man barely speaks 30 words to me in a whole day! LOL!) He's so into it! He asked me all kinds of questions and was brainstorming ideas to turn the kitchen into a better work space and he even volunteered to learn how to prepare the meals. (The best he can do it make toast-oh wait, once 8 years ago, he did fry an egg for me! LOL!) He said something so sweet. He said "Thanks for taking the time to really talk to me about this. It feels so great to be motivated together about this!" He also ackowledged again that this is by NO MEANS a temporary thing-this is a LIFESTYLE. I'm so happy. It feels so wonderful to have him on this journey as an active participant rather than a passive bystander. YIPPEE!!

Oh Purl I am so delighted for you! You are so lucky to have such a supportive man in your life. I know how hard it can be when your diets are not in sync. It can take a lot out of you. While having a common ground opens up many doors for exploration.... oh believe me!! ;)

Purl, My Husband started reading all my books...& he is pretty high Raw & feels so much better. What is so great is I finally have him off dairy-as he had one sip of milk & his stomach was immediately upset.

It is funny because I'll be in the kitchen making something & he'll say...did you know??? & then give me all the scientific data regarding food. It is so cute & inspiring. Now, if he could just learn to slice & dice, but he does help w/shopping & food storage.

I never asked him to join me but saw my results & is now into the Raw. I don't know if he'll be 100%-but I don't care as it is his decision.

The other thing that is nice is he has been sharing his knowledge w/his cousin who has cancer. It is frustrating that his cousin hasn't done much yet...but you never know who we are going to inspire. :p

Lana-soemthing you said struck a chord with me-I did tell dh that I will not be responsible for his diet. There will be raw foods available and served for dinner, but that I will not decided whether he can or cannot eat something, etc. This all started because he began to ask if he can have this, or that etc on a raw foods diet. They were CLEARLY non-raw/cooked foods, and there is no way I am going to become the Raw Police dictating what a 30 year old man can eat. He is a big boy and can make his own decisions. I also told him that *I* am going to be raw. regardless of what the dc and he decide. I am not going to struggle with the family to make this work. They can go raw and feel better or stay cooked and feel cruddy. I even told my 8 yos that. I told them that they know the difference btwn raw and cooked, gluten free and gluten based. They are old enough to make a choice to eat right and feel strong and healthy or make poor food choices and have bad reactions (behavior) from it. Their bodies, their choice. Ahhhh, no pressure.

raw foods is the same as evangelizing-you just need to plant the seed and let God do the rest. ;)

Awww Purl, I am SOOO happy for you...the BOTH of you!

That is going to make such a difference having him along in this with you. And you're so right about planting the seed! You planted, Jinjee and Storm watered and God gave the increase! :D

Purl~

So very happy for you! It's really super that he is SO excited about this. Your enthusiasm will help each other so much.

I too, can relate to the "can i eat this?" questions. I did the same thing. I told him a few things I read, pros/cons and said "but I am not the police. I will not check up on you, only encourage you."

I like no pressure, too! The DVD intrigues me. I have been to their site a few times and found their family inspiring.
