Could you please guide me in the area of what you order in restaurants?
Thank you. I am newbie and eat at nice restaurants and not so nice ones too!
THANK YOU!

simplicity, there are LOTS of threads on this, if you use the banana above to do a search you will get lots of advice.

I love Thai food and usually get the veggie spring rolls or papaya salad. (Responders on the board told me this) I also ask for their sauteed dishes, only not sauteed. Get ready to smile a lot and to explain how I know the chef is trained to "cook", but I would really like them fresh and not heated. They smile back like you are crazy, but so far I've gotten it like I've wanted it.
Also, any place I eat has salads. Some better than others. I have a hard time at Italian places unless there is a salad bar because their salads are usually iceberg lettuce and tomatoes and just not all that good to me. I have to have more on my salad than tomatoes :)

Mexican restaurants often have avocados, which can be a filling meal, especially when compared with just a small iceberg lettuce salad. And yes, I've had the waiter laugh at me when I ordered "just a plain avocado."
