How do you keep the crackers w/o getting soft? ALso, how long do they last?
I made them yesterday and put them in a plastic container on my counter...a couple of hours later, they were soft and mushy!

Thanks,
Tracy

Hi Tracy, I make Flax crackers all the time & these are my tips.
Make sure you dehydrate long enough & spread batter thick enough-I did a batch too thin & they got soft.
I keep one batch in a plastic bin in the fridge-the rest I freeze.
If you look on my thread regarding "hot & spicy Hummus" - I used a photo w/one of my latest flax cracker creation-I posted my recipe using a v-8 type juice pulp & I have to say that these are the best crackers yet.
Hope this helps. :p

If they're getting soft and mushy that quickly, either:

1. They need to dry longer or...
2. You may want to use something different to store them in.

I have some flax crackers in a ziploc bag (air squeezed out of the bag as much as possible) from weeks ago and they're still nice and crunchy.

Put them back into the dehydrator for a few hours or so and then consider storing in a ziploc bag and get as much air out as you can as you seal it up.

Next time, dehydrate them longer to remove more moisture. Also, when you store them in an air tight container, store them on paper towels to absorb any condensation.
