Hi Everyone--

I'm a 36 year old mother of twins. I've been a vegetarian for many years and decided that it wasn't working for me (still can consurme sugar and breads). So, I've decided to change my lifestyle to raw vegan and go from there. I have to say that I'm pretty nervous--it's a large change. Yet, I've found some great advice on these boards.

So, with a little luck and a lot of perserverance--I will succeed.

Welcome! I'm a mom of twins also (plus 2 singletons). How old are your twins? My guys just turned 8, and my 2 singletons are 5 and 2. We were vegetarian for 5 years, then became big meat eaters and now we are going raw. One of my twins is *very* sensitive to the texture of meat, so he's thrilled to be eating less of it! LOL! I definately think RAW is the way to go, but I struggle with old eating habits and learning a new way of thinking. I've only known about raw for less than 2 months, so I think we are doing okay, not great, but okay. I am probably 70-80% raw and my children are probably 50-60% raw. A few months ago I would say we were only 10-20% raw.

hi there I am also new in ct. Monroe, ct, where are you at? I would love to know which books you bought and liked and what kitchen machines. are you sprouting yet? and using what ? Anyway , very lucky your kids will learn to eat right from the start. My boys are 15, 14 not so willing at this age but they like the snacks so far. Good luck!

I'm in CT as well. Have you been to Alchemy Cafe? It's a raw, vegan and macrobiotic cafe/yoga studio. There's a raw function there this weekend. It's in Hartford right by Trinity College.
