What suggestions do you all have on what you will be eating during the superbowl?
I am thinking of a chili and some crackers and quacamole. I am not sure what else I should make.
I love spicy foods. I want to make as many spicy things as I can make.

Conqueso dip...we have to work together to come up w/a recipe for cheesey conqueso dip. I should look at the dip package at the deli where I used to buy it & get the ingrediants.
If my memory serves me....
I think it is Cheese...Duh.... :D Sour cream, onions, garlic, jalepenos, paprika, lemon or lime juice, red peppers.
I have some nut cheese made up...I'll work w/it in the next few days & get to everybody w/a photo & report. That is my fav dip ever.... :p

Seems that most recipes call for green pepper ( I think red would better) garlic, onion, butter-to saute veggies in ..tomotoes, canned green chilies( I would use jalepenas & velveeta cheese.
Well, My guess is to take the veggies-marinate ina little olive oli & dehydrate until soft. that covers the butter & veggies. I would make a nut cheese sauce- & I would make some nut sour cream to really make this decadent...hey it's the Super Bowl... & then stir in some diced tomotes & jalepenos. I'll give it a try.... :D

***did not give out amounts as this call for a pound of cheese alone  - gonna have to "wing it"****

What's a super bowl? Isn't that what one would put a REALLY good fruit salad in?

I just found this recipe, but I haven't tried it yet. It sounds just right for your spicy dish.
3 ripe avocados
1 lg. onion
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 1/2 tsp cumin
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup sun dried tomatoes, soaked and chopped
2-3 chopped jalapenos
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
romaine or leaf lettuce
Cut the avocado into chunks, and pour lemon juice over it. Chop onion in food processor, then add the rest of the ingredients and process untill smooth and creamy.
Spoon some of the mixture into a lettuce leaf and wrap around mixture. I promise, this tastes like a taco!
You can add more or less of the jalapenos if you wish, the dish is quite spicy, but VERY good!
Enjoy

Well, I figured out a chile conqueso dip recipe. You will need Alissa's book. (I am not going to give out her recipes as it is against my principles & the rules of the forum.) If you don't have her book/dvd I would highly suggest ordering.
Make a batch of Alissa's sour cream-I did not have any miso-used Braggs & less water.
1 cup of Alissa's Nacho cheese recipe- Mine were dehydrated & in the freezer. I would use only dehydrated cheese for texture reasons. (Maybe the frozen cheese makes for an even better texture..not sure)
Blend well in food processor then add :
1/2 lg jalepeno (I may have used a serrano as my peppers got mixed up.)
1 Red Fresno Pepper (found mine at walmart)-
1/2 onion
4-5 tbsp. olive oil- or enough to make the dip smooth.
This is a very rich recipe...but if you are craving some conqueso, I think it is the "bomb."
We think it is really good & spicy...but we like spicy so you could cut back on the peppers.... enjoy.

Flax crackers and salsa, Portabello mushrooms topped with Guacamole and sprouts, Raw Pizza, Nomi Shannon's Sunny Pate with carrot sticks and celery to dip, and a few microbrewed or, better yet, Homebrewed beers

Easy is the key word when preparing for a party that allows the host and hostess to enjoy the events of the day. Placing the hummos mixture on a platter, shaping it into a football, and trimming it with turnip strips for the laces takes a few minutes but creates a visually tempting hors d'oeuvre. Make it the day before and simply bring it to the table. Don't feel slighted when the guests show only brief delight at your effort to embrace the theme of the day before plunging in and demolishing it. No doubt you'll hear more appreciative comments after the game is over. For a big crowd, plan to double or triple the recipe.
SUN-DRIED TOMATO HUMMOS
6 sun-dried tomato halves
1/3 C.(80 ml) boiling water
1 15-oz.(425 g) can garbanzo beans
1 large clove garlic, crushed
3/4 t. salt or to taste
1 or 2 pinches cayenne
5 T. lemon juice
1/4 C. (60 ml) tahini
3 T. garbanzo liquid
1 small turnip
Put sun-dried tomatoes into a small bowl, and pour boiling water over them. Set aside to soak for about 5 to 8 minutes.
Drain and reserve garbanzo liquid. Put garbanzo beans into the food processor, and add remaining ingredients, including the 3 T. garbanzo liquid.
Add soaked sun-dried tomatoes, and process to a thick puree. Spoon mixture onto an oval platter and form into a football shape.
Peel turnip. Cut enough thin julienne strips from the turnip to form the laces of the football. Surround the football with your favorite crackers and provide several spreaders. Serves 6.
