Hello!
The green smoothie I made this morning was so delicious, I just had to share. I call it the Pink and Green. This recipe makes one Vitamix blender full (about 64 oz).

2 pink lady apples
2 large d'anjou pears
1 10-oz. bag frozen organic strawberries
1 bunch red kale

mmmmmmmmm!!!!! =)

Hi Yeahbethany!! I am into green smoothies lately and I am sick of my bananas-laden smoothie (for now, I know I will crave it soon) and this is the kind of 'clean' light refreshing green smoothie I look for. However being a klutz and a 'hopeless-in-the-kitchen' kind of girl, would love to know, is there a need for liquid??? I sure bet and if so, would you reco I go for 2 glasses of water or add liquid to my desired consistency?? Thank you for sharing the lovely concoction.

best ~ a :)

Thanks, yum sounds great! My kids and I go through a VM full everyday of green smoothies. I find I can drink more green smoothies as they are lighter and a bit less sweet.

One I love is;

1-2 oranges, whole
1-3 mangos
several leaves of kale, chard OR 2-3 handfulls spinach
1-2 frozen banana
dates - if need more sweet
optional - 1t. coconut butter

My daughter won't drink "green" so I toss in some fzn blackberries to turn it purple!

If i am wanting a super packed green smoothie I juice loads of greens an apple and a lemon then use that juice as the liquid for smoothie instead of water.

YeahBethany!

Enjoyed the pink and green this morning, although I forgot to buy pears and threw in a date to keep it sweet. Tomorrow I think I'm on to Eachpeachpearplum's recipe. Me eating kale... who knew it was possible? ;)
