I triied to juice some oranges the other day in my Champion and they came out horrible. It wasn't like juice at all but it was thick and glooey.
I don't know what I did wrong.

Did you juice the peels too? My JuiceMan Juicer came with instructions as to which fruit needed to be peeled first. Oranges and Grapefruit were at the top of that list.
Hope that helps.

I usually use an electric citrus juicer. But, I HAVE made it in my Champion before and it is definitely thicker but not undrinkable...it reminded me of the bottled stuff in texture. Maybe you could add a little water to it to thin it a bit (?)

I recommend an electric citrus juicer for oranges, just my opinion. It just turns out so much nicer. If you want your juice more like SAD orange juice, you can strain it through some cheese cloth (or paint strainer bag). You would then take a few citrus wedges and cut out some pieces, without the skin or seeds, and then dice it with a kitchen knife. Then you put the orange bits back in with the filtered orange juice and shake it up. This is the only way I know how to have whole intact orange bits in your orange juice like the Tropicana Homestyle. Any juicing burst the bits, this is of course what juicing is for, so your not going to have the bits intact, you will end up just having pulp instead. I hope my recommendations help.

Here is a picture of the Citri-Star in case you you are interested in one of these. Remember, you should always look at the appliances on Alissa's Store (http://www.alissacohen.com/appliances.html) before making any purchases to see if she sells what you are looking for.

I use a Rachand manual juicer. Here is a link:

It looks like an awkward contraption, but it's much easier to clean than any other juicer I've had, including a Champion. It only does citrus though, and pomegranites.

I currently have a similar one for sale listed in classifieds.
