Hi, just back from Maui tonight ! We found so many great little juice bars and a true locals farmers market . I missed some raw food lunches at a local health food store :( (they apparently sell out by lunch time) other then that very little prepared raw food, we found some packaged raw bars, raw nuts etc... Breakfast was easy, lots of fruit and the hotel made us green juice every morning ! Lunch, they made us great salads and of course more fruit. Dinner was VERY tough but the chef was creative. Last night, our last night :( he made some wonderful raw veggie dish with curry, he just threw it together and wow ! it was great ! Thankfully most nights we were so tired by Maui dinner time which is 5 hours behind NY time that we basically ate big lunches and just had smoothies for early dinner and passed out. It was fun exploring all the local health food hang outs and we met people from all over the world doing so!

I'm just catching up on all the great info I missed ! and looking forward to getting back to my regular raw foods here at home, I really missed my buckwheat shakes !

Hawaii is home to an incredible number of raw fooders!!! You lucky girl, you. I have a friend who returned from a month or so there -- first doing a David Wolfe retreate, then hanging out, camping in nature, eating sprouted coconuts fallen by the wayside (literally) -- can you imagine so many coconuts that they just fall and lay there till they sprout? Also, picked wild greens. Hey! She just joined this forum, in fact, so I hear. Maybe she'll tell about it herself.

Anyway, maybe the tourist-hotel areas don't encompass this lifestyle yet. The health food store should stock more, huh! Seems there are plenty of us out there for them to sell out! Glad you had a great time anyway!
