Is is wise to buy produce, like greens, online? I have pretty much given up finding high quality greens here in Virginia, and I can't grow. Well, I ordered sprouting seeds, and will start using those, but I would like more than just that. Some places ship over night, and the shipping cost is something like $20. I would be willing to pay that much weekly if I knew I was getting good stuff, and it would be good motivation to consume lots of greens(to get my money's worth). Is that even worthwhile? One sight I found was all the way in California. Is that ridiculous? Are there places closer, like Florida that would have what I'm looking for?

Brad, where in Virginia do you live? I know of several places in Arlington and Fairfax...among others, like maybe Springfield...where you may find what you need. ??

There is a place in Florida called Glazzier Farm that Samuel posted a link to but I do not know if they ship produce. Check them out and see. I think that the link was under Macadamia nuts.

Hi--
If you happen to be in Northern Virginia, try MOM's (my organic market). great produce. fresh, reasonably priced.

I'm in Southern VA, in Newport News. It's near Norfolk. Northern VA is a bit too far for a weekly visit.

Glaser Farms will ship to you and their UPS shipping rates are very reasonable.

What about Diamond Organics? I just received their magazine in the mail. I live in Michigan near Kalamazoo and there not much out here. Has anyone ordered from them?

I ordered from Diamond Organics for the first time a couple weeks ago and was so excited opening the box of beautiful greens, I felt like a kid at Christmas!! The produce is very fresh, crisp and tastes great. I wish I could order every week but it is expensive. If you order a "sampler" you don't have to pay for the overnight shipping.
I also debated about the fact that the produce was being shipped from so far away, but I realized that anything I buy from any market here in NH is being shipped mostly from CA anyway.

That's a good point about most of the stuff on the east coast coming from CA. Might as well pay the extra and get fresh instead of going to the supermarket to find who knows what.
