So many people have written to ask me about the certification course I took with Alissa and also about how I started a raw food store/business and how they could do the same. So I thought I would post a response so anyone interested in this could benefit and move in the direction of their dreams.
My answer is the same to both questions really. When I went to Alissa's Living on Live Food Certification course, everything changed for me. Everything I ever wanted to know about raw food and about preparing raw food was covered and it was so exciting! But what really did it for me was how I was handed a business opportunity created by Alissa,, and then how together she and her co-facilitator individually helped each of us recognize our strengths and verbalize our dreams. From there they showed us how to move forward with these strengths and dreams. They helped us form a community of like-minded people to support and encourage us along the way. They gave us a roadmap of how to create a thriving raw food business and helped us learn how to teach, and understand what people were looking for.
Alissa's co-facilitator has over 20 years experience in experiential learning. Her expertise is in helping people realize and achieve their ambitions and dreams. She has a 100% success rate in her own practice! So imagine being immersed in the raw food lifestyle with Alissa, and then being taught how to take this knowledge and applying it to your own personal life--and being successful at it!!
Everything was thought of from marketing ideas, networking, abundance training, support, buriness tools and so much more. All that on top of learning how to be a Living on Live Food Chef. Alissa shared her many years of experience with us and allowed us to use that to propel ourselves on to our own individualized career paths, and she stays with us afterwards helping and cheering us along.
So I was able to start the store and afull-time raw food career from everything I learned in Alissa's training. The response has been truly amazing! People from all walks of life and age groups have come to my classes and store. People are tired of not feeling well and are so ready for this! There are not enough teachers to go around.
I have received so many clients from my listing on Alissa's website and from within my local community. It's been an incredible life-changing experience.
If a career in raw food is something you are dreaming of, here it is. Alissa's training will get you started on that dream today. You do not have to wait until you have so many years of experience, you do not have to wait until you are "perfect" If you have passion, people are waiting for you. The potential is huge. And they need you and your dream.
Even if you are new to raw, you will be amazed at what you will experience when you go to this course. It will change your life.
Alissa had 20 people in her last training. A bunch of them went home from there and quit their jobs, jumping right into having a full-time raw food career!
A woman in the class had 12 people signed up for her first class before she even came to the training. She too has left her job to do this full-time and live her dream. Her first 2 classes were completely full. Imagine having people on a waiting list, there is such a demand for this!
Another woman from her training opened a thriving store as well and another student is doing health expos. Someone from her last class is in the process of opening a raw food restaurant while another is going to travel all over America doing classes and lectures. A couple fro her class opened a retreat center and another of Alissa's teachers is opening up a huge living food center!
I hope that helped inspire some of you who have written that you have this dream but dont know how to do it. Now you know! :) Go for it! Alissa will lend you her many years of experience and her certified teachers will help support and inspire you along your path.
So, lets hear from you. How many of you are holding some form of this dream inside of you?
Waiting to hear!
Warmly~
Carmel

Dear, Sweet, Sweetgoddess,
I couldn't have said it better myself. You have captured and articulated everything that is so great about this training. It is truly life-transforming. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that I am able to take part in this incredible, amazing opportunity. I love Teaching the LOLF classes and it's the most rewarding thing by far that Ive EVER been involved in.
Thank God for Alissa and Elaine, and thank God for you. And thank God for ALL the LOLF Teachers. There is abundance for all of us. So many people want this information and are ready for it. I got a call from a gal who signed up for my class tomorrow whose sister on the East Coast told her about Alissa's website. The more the merrier! I've always believed, and now I have proof that the more LOLF Teachers and classes there are the busier we will ALL get.
Thank you, Sweetgoddess, once again, for inspiring me and reminding me how lucky I am. :)
Blessings to you all,
Vicki

Sweetgoddess, I've just looked at your journal photos..... WOW!! The difference is amazing between the befores and afters. You are simply glowing and clearly lost weight.
Do you mind me asking how much weight you lost and over what period of time?
Your post was very inspiring but I think it'll take a while for LOLF classes etc to really gain prominence in England. We have Shazzie and the Fresh Network and some other people doing their best to promote the raw lifestyle, but I think that for the most part raw fooders are regarded as cranks in England. If everyone logged onto this site and bought Alissa's book, they would have a different opinion.
Best wishes.

Thanks Sweetgoddess!
Funny, I just PM'd RawTruth yesterday about her training dates. I've always had an interest in nutrition (applied to and was accepted into ta top University back in South Africa, with a half scholarship to do a degree it Dietetics, which I turned down - go figure) and thought that I would enjoy it as a career - but my problem has always been that I don't (and ever really have) agree with the SAD eating pyramid!
I think I may have found something here that I can really DO (even though the logistics of it scares the living daylights out of me!!) :D

Tracy, thanks for your kind words. You are so in luck! Alissa is coming to do a certification course there NOVEMBER 9th - 13th 2006 in ENGLAND! It would be so neat to see you there. To answer your question I lost 73 pounds on raw.
Apples'nAvos, believe me you will lose all of those fears at Alissa's! Your strength will be made so apparent to you and you will gain a whole new confidence with what she shows you!
berrienoire, it would be a joy to see you at Alissa's as well.I am glad my post had divine timing for you. Please, let us know where your dream leads you! I wish you all the best.

This is for EVERYONE!
As many of you know I have had a huge response for the Living on Live Food classes I have booked. My Sunday class is now full and my Saturday class is half full for a total of 15 students. Not bad for my first weekend - especially since this was from flyers and word of mouth. I have even had someone who registered previously call and register another person. Please send me all your good thoughts on Saturday and Sunday.
What I am writing to all of you about is that my husband and I talked and we both see the potential here. Send wonderful thoughts to my husband for being so brave and trusting! As of tomorrow I am giving notice at my job and I will launch full time into being an Alissa Cohen Living on Live Food Certified Teacher. I am FREE! I believe in what I am doing and I believe in Alissa's vision.
I want all of you to be able to reach your full potential with this opportunity as well. What I can tell you is that forming partnerships of sorts with alternative health facilities and providers is a key way to produce business. Both for you and for the facility.
One more thing, I want to thank Alissa for showing me how easy it is to stay raw. I've been eating some great food! I'm Free!! I didn't indulge the thought today and I was able to overcome a certain pizza craving. And of course I am sprouting buckwheat right now! Alissa, this is the longest I have stayed raw ever. You rock!
My best wishes to all of you!

I'm VERY interested in the certification courses. I've been practicing raw food lifestyle for 2.5 years, have completed Ann Wigmore certification and have worked at Tree of Life. Is there any way to waive the first chef course with past experience? I'm well-versed in the basics and don't want to spend money on information I feel pretty confident I already know. Thanks for any info.

You could send an email to alissa@alissacohen.com with your question rawyogini, and Alissa or her co-facilitator will be able to answer that for you!

Thank you, sweetgoddess, for your post.
Even though my boyfriend and I haven't even started our first 30 day challenge (we just went food shopping today), we've already had discussions about the very same thing.
He's a chef by trade, I'm a dance teacher and public speaker. We were thinking how nice it would be, especially in our area, to open a Living Arts Center that has food demonstrations, catering, cafe, health food store, and room for pilates and yoga classes. Almost like a one-stop shop for the body and mind.
Something to think about...
Thanks!

Sweetgoddess,
I don't know if finances or the demands of my job would allow me to do a course but I would love to see Alissa in England. Will she be doing any day seminars or talks? Do you know which location? Who is organising things this end? I haven't seen anything advertising Alissa's visit.
By the way, does Alissa know how awful, wet and cold the weather is in England in November??? Better bring a big umbrella and lots of sweaters!! :)
73lbs weight loss is great!!

Sweetgoddess - What a blessing you are in my life! You have inspired me in so many ways for as long as I have been here on this board and your story of creating your own abundance is so filled with love, hope and joy that I can't help but feel inspired by you!
I'm grateful for this thread and for being able to see opportunity today, rather than discouragement. I live in S. California, in Orange Co., no less. . right here where Alissa has been teaching her classes. I had hoped to attend in January, but family obligations in Chicago prevented that and I though I'd have another opportunity. . .but then I heard that Alissa was moving to Maine. . .my first thought was - drat, I've missed the boat again. . .this is a recurrent problem for me, it seems. . but then I remembered that I can turn any problem into an opportunity. Now the classes will be held in New Hampshire. . .that's a long way away. . and will require travel. . .But HEY, I love to travel. . .an opportunity to go somewhere that I've never been AND to take the class. The money will come (I love the story about the rent!) because the money always comes when I allow it to. . . when I am an open channel for money I always have enough for what I need.
So I'm recreating the situation where I've missed the boat. . this time there is a better boat waiting for me and I'm going to catch it with time to spare. An opportunity to change my life and to do something that I love all at the same time. What could be better?
Again, thanks for the inspiration. . .and the reminders.
Many blessings,
Karen

Sweetgoddess, thank you muchly for all the wonderful info and inspiration.
I have every intention of taking this course - (through our wonderful Rawkinlocs) and hopefully by fall I'll have the finances in order.
I'm actually already telling people that I intend on teaching on raw food by this fall. So let it be spoken, so let it be done. :) Hmm, either that's in the Bible or Star Trek - no joke, I honestly can't remember. :) But, it fits.
I am soooooo excited about having this as a life passion/career. People all around me are starting to notice my (finally!) transformation taking place and want to know more. I can't wait until I can teach!
Anyhow, thanks and I'm so happy for you Carmel!

Karen, nothing could be better! Thank you for your sweet words. :)
Go for your dreams with all your being. I can tell you getting to Alissa's is only a teensy part of it. While there dreams you barely knew you had will unfold before your eyes and change your world. It is worth any effort!
Shannon, you are welcome and thank you! That very passion you have is all it takes. I can't wait to see where it leads you in Alissa's trainings,.It will be great to have someone spreading Alissa's vision in Canada ( my homeland :) )
Tracy, lol. Alissa isnt coming for the weather. She is coming to give people an opportunity and to share her vision! Rain or shine.

On both her website and in your post, Carmel, are noted the 5 day? consolidated course? What is the class rate for that?
I am seriously considering this.... This is definitely a year for new things and journeys....
Does the class give you ideas on WHERE to have your classes, if you don't presently live in a home that would be a suitable host spot? What type of monetary investment do you think would be necessary to begin, outside of the class? (such as, equipment, space rental, etc). Do they go over this, and help come up w/creative solutions?
Thanks for you time!
Love your website, by the way!

Hey Everyone! Yep it completely covers all of that Lauri.
Please dont hesitate to call and ask all of the questions you need to about these classes if you feel its right for you. Elaine, my co-facilitator will be more then happy to spend some time with you and talk to you in depth about this. You can also call to speak with Carmel about it.
It has been so amazing seeing how peoples lives are transformed from these classes. It is truly the most amazing thing ive done because i actually get to meet these people face to face for 5 days and 'see' the transformations before my eyes and not just read about it over email.
Im so blown away by the quality of people that are coming to the trainings and the level of growth that happens in these classes. It really is an honor to be able to be a part of this process with people. I hope I can meet and get to know more of you and have you join our team!
Best,

As Alissa said, yes, everything you could possible imagine will be covered, but better yet--things you have never imagined will be covered too.

I have one more semester in college after this one and then I was considering taking the Certification course. Do most people actually do this full time? I live in Jonesboro, but I wonder if Memphis would be a good market for it? I may move there next year, since my BF may go there to work and I will be graduating.
I am seriously interested in this. I'm going to research my details. :)

Amberly,
I think Memphis would be a great place to do this. And, yes, of course, you could create a living full-time in living foods.
It's an amazing, life-changing course that I would definitely advise you to take. It's experiential learning at its best.
Hurry up with your last semester!

Hi!
I just wanted to put a note of thanks in to Alissa and Sweetgoddess for responding to my post....
I think making a living in raw foods coupled w/some of my other passions would be SUCH liberating experience.... I am going to call next week (after my cell minutes renew : )), and see what the cost is, etc. (Are ya'll open on the weekends?) It is difficult to think how this would fly in Nashvegas.... It's a possiblity, though. I was just thinking the other day how we could not get a Starbucks here to save our lives when I first moved here from Oregon/Washington, and now? Now they are EVERYWHERE! They haven't yet reached the every corner thing yet, but, it is definitely not the same. Perhaps that would be the same w/raw???
It's kinda scarey to think about! How many people in one area would want to become a chef? Eeek!
Also, how would this work for someone who has next to zero culinary talent, though? I have never been a guru in the kitchen w/COOKED, and some of my early experiences w/the recipes in her (Alissa's) book went sour.....
Although, I am sure that the hands on professional teaching would be much more stellar than the figure it out on your own w/less than perfect equipment method I had been attempting!
It is definitely something to think/dream about. I would love to have a life where I could make a living doing something I love, without spending hours and hours on it, and then pursue some of my OTHER loves and passions as well! Hmmm....
Okay, well, off to dream : )

Hey Lauri!
I am so excited for you that you are considering this!!! If I had the money and time in my life I would go with you!!! It is a possibility in the future but I'm content right now with everything that I do! I was just talking to my hubby yesterday about how I really need to cut back on all the activities I do at school, home and church! I need to take more "me" time! :)
The invitation is still open for you to come over to my house to try out some different recipes! There's a ton in Alissa's book that I want to try! I've been doing mostly easy, fresh fruits and veggies but I really want to make a prepared dish sometime soon!
Did you go to the potluck last weekend? I'm so sorry I couldn't make it. A friend from Germany was staying with us and I wanted to show her the sights of Nashvegas! :)

This is so strange. I have been thinking how much I want to teach others about RAW foods. Even though I am not 100% I know that this is the answer for a lot of people. I had gotten a new computer and hadn't been to this site in a while but since I am back on the raw wagon I have been lirking for a week but never came in through the front door so I knew nothing about the training until Sunday. I am so excited but I have one question
Do I have to go to california for the training??? I see to people have classes here in Illinois can I take the train from one of them and be able to teach and train others????
As a single mother living from paycheck to paycheck I can't afford to even go to Great america here in Illinois let alone drive to california for a week(I say drive cause Jennifer don't fly God gave me a car not wings :p )

Do you teach these certifications in Montana? I have always dreamed of visiting Montana, and I would say my next dream would be to first become 100% raw and then become certified in the raw life style to start my own career.

Teri, lol I am glad you are unwilling to rob a bank! Hopefully there is a more creative solution than that! ;)
Yes the cost is all three levels of Alissa's Certifications in one. Most people end up sharing a room with a classmate so your lodging is cut in half which is great. The wonderful thing about this ( one of them anyways) is that you get to know your fellow classmates and end up with this incredible group of raw food friends. Your own support group! Some people even split travel!
Jen- I am not sure how far a drive it would be for you sorry. You would have to check on yahoo maps or some such program.
Michele, thank you for saying sweet things to me lol :)
Yes I teach these classes in Montana. It is just so exciting! Anyways, I can tell you a lot of people who go to Alissa's trainings are not 100 percent raw but end up there after being around her for 5 days! Her food and knowledge really cemented raw inside of me--which is what I had been looking for.
And a lot of my customers do not want to be 100 % raw--they want to know how to eat healthier without living on celery sticks! After a class or two and discovering Alissa's world, they often surprise themselves and go all the way with ease!
As far as your 2 dreams.....I think that is wonderful. Dreams are a blessed gift! The lady who teaches with Alissa, named Elaine, works with people and their dreams. She helps them turn dreams into a reality and has a 100% success rate. She is amazing and does this for Alissa's teachers, which is really mindblowing. And why I opened my store. I had forgotten that everything is possible, and was fortunately remined by Alissa and Elaine!
Anyone interested in the training can call her anytime, since she can answer all the questions from logistics, expenses to what you will experience etc
Elaine's number is 561-261-4963
I am not sure I answered everything well here, so feel free to find out more from her. She loves talking to people!
Have a great weekend!

I love this post...as we have talked in the past about this exact thing!! I am looking into the NH courses in Sept--so i can save up. By then I will be ripe and ready to leave my teaching job of elementary kids to educate adults. The best part is that the training is only 30 miles from my home!!! so i can save money and not need lodging:)
I am so excited to hear others stories too----My fears have held me back for too many yrs--starting something and never finishing it--- from puzzles to master's degrees :o I know I want to incorporate nutrition and yoga somehow and would love to be surrounded with like-minded individuals all day to give me ideas and support/encouragement!!
