I haven't been able to find my electric nut milk maker since moving, so I made almond milk in the vitamix this morning. Having no cheesecloth, I tried straining it through a sieve....too much work. So I just left the nut pulp in and made a smoothie...great. Since I don't just drink nut milk plain, I'm not going to bother straining it. If I add it to a smoothie or muesli, it doesn't need a silky smooth texture. Besides, I get the benefit of the whole nut.

Well, that makes sense. Thank you for the tip.

That is the number one benefit of the Vita-Mix. It has the horsepower to really blend. It makes for creamier milk because it contains more of the whole almond itself.

Anyone using a standard blender knows that you will have to filter out the pulp if you want smooth milk without any silt.
