Hi

I live in Colorado and find it very hard to fast in the winter. I get so cold when fasting. Adding cayene pepper (to lemon fast, for instance) doesn't help.

Any suggestions? Has anyone fasted in a cold climate without freezing? I don't want to turn the heat up, because our gas bill would be too high. I figured I would just wait until Spring.

i was freezing on a fast in december and someone here i cant remember suggested kelp , something to do with thyroid i think , and it helped me . ive also drank yarrow tea from my garden in summer that seemed to raise my body temp alot . i believe also that some herbals say boneset tea for chills . and i think someone said dont drink any cold water cuz itll lower body temp . i started a fast yesterday and im going to try powdering up some kelp if i start freezing again so i"ll post a report .

Try adding some flax seed oil to your juices. The Omega fatty acids in this will help a little bit. My mother had the same prob (she just came off a fast although it didn't last long), and her body just needed that extra bit of fatty acids. Anyways, I have been informed that this could help so it wouln't hurt to try.
