Hi, I'm Pam and I live in Northwest Indiana. I've been drawn to raw food for several years now, but hadn't made the committment.

I've lurked around the forum here as a guest for a few days and really love what I see and read.. the support, the success stories. I love Alissa's philosophy and her approach, reminding myself that I'm on the road to better health, rather than pining for what I think I'm leaving behind.

I'm ready, now. I received Alissa's DVD and book three days ago and immediately watched it all. Bought the groceries for Week 1 of the 30 day commitment and I'm ready to go 100%.

Just one small problem.. I am a BIG coffee drinker - a pot a day - and I went without even a cup yesterday. Ended up with a huge headache today and a fuzzy brain and body that only wanted to sleep. Not good when I have work that needs to get done.

Would greatly appreciate any suggestions about how to get over that hurdle!
TIA and looking forward to getting to know you all better.
Pam

I used to be a coffee drinker, but I went cold turkey when my raw vegan doctor said "the only thing you should be using the coffee grinder for is to grind nuts".

Anyway, I did not really have withdrawls even when I was drinking a pot a day. I would just put up with withdrawls till they stop because you will feel much much better soon.

I kicked coffee by juicing in the early am. About as complicated as grinding, pouring water , liner, wait for brew... you can juice carrots with apples.
It really replaced the wake-up that I'd get from coffee.
Good Luck

Thanks, sport, karenramsall and kitchenfairy.
I will give the juicing in the morning a try. I know that about 90% of this is attitude or expectation that I'm going to have problems.. so I'm working on that end of things as well! Positive thoughts only!
Appreciate the quick responses!
