Hi all,
I'm a grandmother, 61 years of age. I had been eating raw for 4 years starting in 1999 and continued for 4 years. I then fell off and have just this past week started up again. It must have been the right time for me as it has been relatively easy to do. Surprising how much easier it is each time we try to do something if we haven't done it in a while. I have so many recipes in my head already and my body still remembers how to get along with raw foods, just so long as I don't try to eat cabbage or raw carrots. I was a little afraid I might not be able to handle all the raw fiber but I'm doing fine.

I first heard of raw in 1970 and tried then plus a couple of other times over those years. I just didn't have the money or a good place to buy enough raw as I canned and froze most of our food in the summer. I have a much better place to get fairly good produce now. That helps a lot.

Welcome to this great group. I, too, heard of raw or Natural Hygiene as it was known as back then in the 70's. I could never stay on it, and 'forgot' about it except for a few times until 2005 when I have made two attempts for raw. This time has been 44 days and the main reason it is working for me this time is that I was able to recognize that I often ate for emotional reasons (to mood alter, minimize or suppress my feelings, etc.) So anyways thanks for your comments how easy it is for you this time and I hope you enjoy this group. I have found it very supportive, informatiove and friendly.
