Here are some tried-and-true recipes that I LOVE:
Carob Mint Milk
(A yummy, refreshing, sweet protein treat! You can also add ice or a frozen banana to make it a milkshake.)
This is from the LifeFood Recipe Book by Annie & David Jubb.
2 cups any nut milk (I use almond)
2 T raw carob powder, or more to taste
2 T raw honey, or maple syrup (not raw!) or 1 T liquid stevia herb
2 drops - that's all - no more - of peppermint essential oil. (Trust me, I accidentally put three drops in and I think it just about burned my throat going down!)
Slap it all into a blender or vitamix and blend away.
Cherry Nut Milk Smoothie
(also from Annie & David Jubb)
VeggieGirl's note: I usually cut this recipe in half because it makes a LOT! This is a good meal any time of the day.
2 C frozen black cherries (OK to substitute blueberries)
1/2-1 C fruit (apple, pear, peach, or combo)
4 C Nut milk (see, that's a LOT!)
1 heaping tablespoon lecithin granules
3 T flax seed oil, or coconut oil
2 T bee pollen
1 T spirulina flakes (or blue green algae powder)
1/4 t Vanilla extract (non-alcohol is always best)
1/4 C fresh ground flax meal (optional)
2 T raw honey
pinch of sea salt
Blend all ingredients well and love your body!
