Hello... I'm new. I tried about a year ago to go raw... but I found it quite a challenge. I did learn a lot thru my 3 month voyage of raw-ism.

I know that when you go raw you can and will experience detox, and possibly other changes as well.

I am wondering... I am by no means raw... but I have been steadily increasing the amount of raw foods that I eat daily. I'm probably somewhere around 50% on average or just a bit better. This has been for a few weeks. I have noticed that my nails are getting smoother and shinier.

But today I'm experiencing an on and off ear ache. I used to suffer a lot from ear aches as a child... even had to have several operations on my ears to help drain the fluid buildup behind the drums.

I am wondering if it is possible that todays ear ache could be attributed to my eating more raw foods? Kind of like a detox... like my body is healing itself from pain long ago?? Does any of this make sence, or should I perhaps have it checked out by a doctor? I hate to go if it's just my body repairing old damage... b/c the doctor will likely just prescribe antibiotics, if she notices anything. Which would only be bad for my body.

Thanks for any and all input!
Sandra

Welcome and welcome back to raw foods WannaBRaw!

Yes, this could very well be the case...what has been termed, "retracing"...especially due to the fact that more than likely medications were given during those childhood earaches. Whatever we surpress with drugs and medications, etc. can usually be expected to resurface at some point so the body can TRULY deal with it, heal it and recover from it. We just have to stay out of the way! :)

Are you having any dairy products at this stage of your life? If so, consider eliminating those from your diet as soon and as much as possible!

Thanks for the reply Rawkinlocs!!

I really thought it was possible... and I don't want to hamper any healing.

I was allergic to milk products as a child so I never developed a real taste for it. And a long time ago I read "Fit for life" and he spoke of the dangers of milk and animal products. Although I have drank it from time to time since then, I recently (about 2 months ago) quit drinking it fully, in the hopes that my throat congestion would clear up. It's better, but has some more clearing to do.

I wish I was fully RAW so that my body could fully heal itself... but I'm not there yet! Working on it tho!

Thanks again for the thoughts!!
Sandra

It could also be that your muscles in your neck. If you are very tense or tight then you can get an ear ache (my mom gets them all the time). It feels like an ear infection
