Ok. I am wanting to buy Alyssa's Book and DVD but am on limited funds right now, so I'm trying to be careful. Is there a big difference in it and other raw books? I know it has had rave reviews, and normally I wouldn't inquire further, but I am trying to decide if it will be motivational enough/ ground breaking enough to spend those last pennies on. Can I have some insight? Thanks! In any case I'll eventually get it. Just trying to determine if the time is right.

Don't ever hesitate to inquire further - that's what this board is all about. You will never know how much information is available to you unless you ask ;)
I personally own 6 raw recipe books. There are only 2 of that 6 that I actually use on a very regular basis. Alissa's is the first one, and in my opinion, the best - without a doubt. It is filled with lots of encouragement and information that my other books don't have. In addition, the recipes are simple, the ingredients are accessible, and everything I have tried has been absolutely delicious.
When I first went raw, a friend let me barrow her Living on Live book and DVD, and I was SO grateful. I tried to go raw for a few weeks without it in the very beginning, and it was really diffcult. Alissa's book makes it SO simple and fun too - which is important to me.
I would suggest that investing in her book is a wise way to spend your money. You can also use the recipe forum to get some good recipe until you have the funds to do so.
I hope this helps.

Finding Alissa's book truly changed my life. It is definitely worth every cent. Know that this is the best raw book out there. It includes hundreds of recipes..recipes that are easy yet delicious. But it also includes everything else you could possibly need including great testimonials, sections on how to deal with your mind, all the components that make up health, all the scientific basis for a raw vegan diet in easy to understand words, her story, stories of those she has helped, commonly asked questions, resources, a menu plan and shopping list, what to expect along the way and so much more. Her book is big and beautiful. Truly comprehensive.
It is literally the only book I use!

Thanks you guys. I'm going to order them today and not worry about it anymore. I can consider it money that I would have spent on decaf skinny lattes. Thanks.
