This is my first week raw. The last couple of days food seems to taste
more bitter to me. Is it normal for tastbuds to "act up"? Please advise. Thanks :p

It is almost like if there is something bitter in a food then it is magnified.......... make sense?

Oh and when I drink water afterwards it tastes bitter too. This is true when I eat anything.

I've had that happen several times, but I haven't figured out what causes it.

I don't have the answer for you...but, I've had it happen too. I've found it usually happens to me after I have had a vinaigrette of some kind, and then I drink water, and think "why does my water taste bitter?". I'm not sure why it happens. Right now, as I write I have a sort of metallic taste in my mouth. YUCK! (and I just brushed my teeth)

I've read that different people respond differently to the "bitter" flavor. Some cannot STAND it while others have no problem with it. I'm one of those who cannot stand bitter vegetables. Cauliflower is a major problem for me. However, my tastebuds have adjusted to some bitter flavors over time. For me, it's more about getting "sweet" out of my system. So many foods have sugar in them in the SAD world that it's no wonder I had to get used to real food. Now I look at my family eating Manwiches, snack crackers, McDonald's etc. and I think about how much sugar they are ingesting along with the meat. Sugar might as well be cocaine, as far as I'm concerned!
