I am just wondering what other raw fooders think about natural sparkeling mineral water such as Pelegrino? Good because of the minerals or bad because of the bubbles etc? It seems natural to me, like drinking water from a spring but I don't know if there is anything bad about it?...

I don't know if it's good or bad, but personally I don't really like sparkling water, never really did, it makes me bloated and burpy :o

I hear other people saying they only drink demineralised water (like the kind you put in your iron) they get from this machine... We at home use a Brita-filter, you just put in water from the tab, and the filter kind of takes some bad stuff out of it, not all of it, I'm sure. We have another machine in the basement that softens the water for the whole house, because we have lots of calc in our water (don't know if you use the term 'calc', like calcareous water)

I've heard that sparkling water is bad for you because you're supposed to breathe out carbon dioxide, and it's unatural to take it in in a beverage. Just something I heard in passing. Not quite sure.

Cool, thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone :) I know drinking unnaturally carbonated beverages is not the best thing but I am curious how water with naturally occurring carbonation is bad or unnatural? When I was in Yosemite last April I drank from a spring there called "soda springs" and the water tasted very pure and good but had natural carbonation. I do notice from drinking the carbonated water that I wills sometimes burp which I don't usually do but other than that I haven't noticed any other changes so far. What is up with drinking de-mineralized water?

I've read that it's better to deminerlize water and get rid of the impurities that are in there as well, and get your minerals through fruits and veggies. Apparently, the minerals in water are not in a form that our bodies can access anyway; that's what the veggies do, put the minerals in a form that we can use. I'm no scientist, just being a parrot here, but I've seen it in more than one place from sources that I considered reliable. Hope it makes sense! LOL

Hi Stargazer, thanks for the info! It does make sense to me in a way and I have heard this information before too but only second hand from other people. Do you remember any links for information?

I love sparkling water because it makes me burp. Something I can't do naturally on my own!

Lol qetta! :D

Analeah, what stargazer said about the minerals in the water that are apparantly not usable for humans, that's exactly what I mean as well, I'll try to find a good link about it...
I'll keep you posted :)

I drink the mineral waters from crystal geyser with the line essence or orange etc. I don't do it too much but it is a nice treat sometimes as I find my drink options have narrowed so much since going raw. However I know that carbonation causes bone loss. I remember reading that somewhere a few years ago. I don't drink enough to be concerned about that but a little indulgence from time to time is nice.
